They have been shoplifting stores on the westside for about a week. Tonight they branched out into car breakins too. Got two cars in the parking lot while their buddy inside jimmied a fire escape door in the back area. Then they all went inside, loaded up some totes, and blasted out the side door. They missed running me over by about a foot in the parking lot, so I noticed the plate. Went inside and got the story. CPD doesn't even pretend to care even if the store will release video. When you can provide proof of stolen merchandise and proof of who took it down to their home address it get's a little frustrating when weeks go by with no action. Bypass the police, file a civil theft suit. Owner of your business can claim three times the value of the items stolen, plus have the right to claim all attorney fees and court costs.
