2003 Ford Focus SVT 116kmi $4.6K CR only firm

Just bought this from EvoXBMX last summer http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112778

I've really enjoyed it but after I bought this car I started a new job where I get great lease deals so I'm taking advantage of that.

The car: 2003 Ford Focus SVT 5 door, black exterior, black+red interior. Factory option HIDS, Winter package (heated seats, mirrors, TCS, block heater), 'audiophile' sound system w/sub, very good condition tires.

Goods: Runs and drives great, is a fun little car and has a ton of room inside. This car started right up even on the coldest of days this winter.

Bads: 1 HID is out (fixing soon), drivers side heated seat doesn't work, could use a wax (will do soon when I have time and weather is good). Has incorrect size wheels & rims for the SVT. These are aftermarket and correct for a regular Focus (205/50/16, SVT should be 225/45/17). I was just going to use these for winters and get a new set of rims and tires this spring.

I'm asking what I finally bought the car for from another member, as I feel that is the only fair thing to do. He gave me what I felt was a great deal and I'd like to try to pass that along. I have put a few miles on it, but part of the deal I got the car for is that he didn't have to clean up the interior. I did a very deep cleaning of the interior on this car, and a little in the engine bay. The only thing I didn't touch on the interior is the middle of the seats, they could use a good shampooing. I will be giving it a good wax soon. This is a CR only member price, and is firm here. When I post it up elsewhere it will be for a bit more. If you have a friend that wants it, it will be more. I will be fixing up things on the car as I have time, but it will not change the price on the car here. If you happen to want to pick it up quickly before I fix these things, that's fine too!

I considered these while looking for another daily but couldn't find one I could trust at the price I was considering. Eventually, got my current car. For a little hatchback, the Focus handles pretty damn well and is lively.

Just did an Autotrader search

62 Focus SVTs for sale country wide.

Only 6 for less than this. 5 of those have more miles. The 6th one is 1kmi less for $100 less, so about the same.

Only 14 5 doors, 2 of which are less than this with more miles.

I do not know if the clutch or timing belt have been replaced.'

Come take a look at the car, the worst thing that will happen is you get a chance to drive a different car and meet another person from the board!

Bulbs came in last night, will replace this weekend at the latest. I can get them on before that, before anyone wants to come look at the car if someone wants to come sooner than that.

  • 3 weeks later...

Gave the car a good wash and wax this weekend and did a headlight restoration. New cabin air filter. Will be doing some exterior plastic restoration this week.

Post wash and wax, pre headlight restoration.

Damn those headlights look a ton better, what did you use to do that, just one of the kits?

It's even more drastic in person. They look new now. Two different members on here said something about doing this after seeing the car/pictures, so I figured I better take their advice.

Yes, I used a kit. Some of the guys at the Autozone down the street actually know a little, and won't bullshit you when they don't so I usually ask them about stuff like this. I asked and they said the 3M kit was the only one that worked well so that's what I used. It has a drill attachment, 3 different levels of sandpaper, then a buffing compound/foam pad to put it on. It was pretty tedious, but made a world of difference.

Someone buy this, I want to go check out Chad's truck but can't buy another car until I sell these cars!

New run down since I've fixed some stuff.

Goods: Runs and drives great, is a fun little car and has a ton of room inside. This car started right up even on the coldest of days this winter.

New HID bulbs, both sides. Hew drivers side fog assembly. New wiper relay, front wipers park perfectly now (common issue). New cabin air filter. Outside cleaned and waxed (see above pics).

A few things I forgot. I did the t-stat o-rings over the winter due to a leak, common issue, but one more thing you won't have to worry about. The car had a sticker on it for some 'system cleanings' from sears at 100kmi FWIW. Fuel system cleaning, coolant exchange, power steering, engine bay. Whatever those mean, I also cleaned a bunch of the engine bay out as I was working on going through some things.

Bads: Drivers side heated seat doesn't work. Crack in the bumper. These are the only two issue I know of and won't be fixed.

I don't see it for sale on here, get to work! :)

To many haters in here for my lowly old 1999 Cobra all I would get is why did you buy that pile and it's not worth $5 I'll give you $4 for it. It's bad enough dealing with the general public. lol
