Ryan218
well i have always wanted a diesel truck, and to learn more about the diesel world. figured this was a perfect one to do that with. 89 F-250 7.3 IDI with an E40D that has been built the guy says. the truck has sat here at our work for a few years. ended up getting it for 600 bucks. guy had a ton of money into it. striped to bare frame, blasted and coated. cab was done and painted but paint is a 30 footer. took us about 2 hours of tracing elec problems but got it started. runs good but trans wont shift. it has no tach and im pretty sure an e4od relies on tach signal to shift. glow plug harness is hacked up as is most of the wiring in the truck. Made a trip to dayton on tuesday and picked up a truck load of parts for the truck. new engine harness, a couple brackets the truck was missing as well as thorttle peddle and cables and cruise controll module over flow tank, radiator. and the best part a ATS turbo kit, with the full exhasut. my plans for the truck. something i can pick up parts in and drive in crapy weather so the new mustang can stay in the garage. do some mild towing with it and take the mustang to go to a track day out of state. all around fun truck to drive. we will see where it ends up. as of now it sitting with the fuel tank out to be cleaned and swapping over the engine harness. after it starting up without a big fight to get it started that when ill put the ATS kit on. will have to have the cross over pipe re made so hopefully can find someone who can duplicate the one i have. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g226/ryan218/Mobile%20Uploads/image.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g226/ryan218/Mobile%20Uploads/image-1.jpg and the mustang, dont want to have to drive this is bad weather. brembo brakes are on the to do list as well as a different set of wheels for slicks. need to remove them 1/4 covers but scared of hurting the paint lol. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g226/ryan218/image.jpg
STEVE-O
Put a flat bed and rails on it so you can drive the mustang right up onto it. Homemade flatbed ftw
Ryan218
Put a flat bed and rails on it so you can drive the mustang right up onto it. Homemade flatbed ftw I have work truck for that lol. Want to find a bed for it. Never been a fan of flatbed on pickups unless it's a true work truck. Need to find a 92-97 front clip as well. Ryan218
Got more of the engine harness all re wrapped. Ended up finding a bad relay that was causing no tack signal. Shifts perfect now. Cooling system All clean now. Fuel system clean and electric pump is now in place. Starts up great. Let it sit over night to see how it would act on a cold start this morning. After getting to work hit the key waited for wait to start light to go off find hit the key. Fired right up. And it will spin "a" tire. Turbo kit and such will hopefully give this truck some more balls. Still got a lot to do but it's coming together. On this weeks list is install new throttle cable, pick up a bed for it, find out why fuel gauge has no power, made a new cross over pipe for the turbo kit. The. Start installing turbo. Ryan218
Trip to junkyard today new seats, rust free tail gate. Carpet, third brake light. Some misc. hardware I needed. Carpet will get power washed and dyed this weekend. Still got some wiring to take car of under the dash before I'll throw the carpet in. Gonna have a new cross over pipe for the turbo kit made Tomm and probably put that on this coming week. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g226/ryan218/Mobile%20Uploads/image-5.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g226/ryan218/Mobile%20Uploads/image-6.jpg
