ecc_33
If there is a idler pulley in the system spin it also with the belt off. Ive replaced many through out all makes!
cstmg8
F#*k me!! Pulled the belts of this morning put the AC belt back on started to put the serpentine belt back on, & I could not get that bastard on. I know I have the routing correct, but I could not get enough slack in it to slide over the last pulley. Works on it for over an hour, and had to walk a way from it. So now I am on my way to Good Guys driving my beater, instead of the car I try to keep nice for events. Not happy. Hopefully when I get back it will slide on in 2 minutes after walking away from it for a while.
MrMeanGreen
We're going to be out doing stuff later to fix my boat trailer. Lemme know if you need a hand if you're around Reynoldsburg/Pataskala.

I remember that car being the easiest thing on the planet to replace that belt..
cstmg8
Yeah, I had a ratchet on the tensioner, I've replaced a hundred of these stupid things, but this one didn't want to go. Thanks for the offer Bird, I am on the east side, at noe-bixby/broad. I'm hoping it will slip right on after walking away from it.
MrMeanGreen
No problem. I'm down the road a few miles myself.
GSXRAntwon
OP- mine did that on my 08 silverado and it was the tensioner making noise. Also, never trust the OEM rocker arm needle bearings, always replace them with Comps a Trunion Kit.
