PM me for exact address. This is the 12 hour NRA Basic Pistol class needed to submit for CCL in Ohio. There is extensive emphasis on marksmanship and one on one training. I cover all the NRA needs me to, and add much more. This is a one day course, so you get it done, and over with. Please PM me to get in the class or for any questions. As always, if you are interested in setting up a class with your family and friends, PM me to set something up. Couples, PLEASE do all you can to come together. I want you both on the same page, as shown by the discount. CR rate is $75 per person + $25 for gun rental and ammo, if needed Couples are $125 + $25 for gun rental and ammo, per person if needed Non CR rate is $100 per person + $25 for gun rental and ammo, if needed Couples are $150 + $25 for gun rental and ammo, per person if needed. I commit to making sure you are trained. If you do not pass the range portion, I will retrain you, at no cost, other than gun and ammo use if needed. If you don't pass the written test, I will work with you so you can pass it, at no cost. If you just don't like how I teach and don't want to retrain, I'll give you your money back and you can be on your way. I literally don't even know where to begin as far as what all Joe helped me improve on. As seen in the chat box, and by the 11pm text from a CR member asking to validate a shot that was made in the class, I'll talk about a couple things from class. Yesterday's class was a great example of why I only teach small classes. Ideally, I like 6-10 people in class, but I will still run a 2 person class. Both shooters yesterday demonstrated great fundamentals of marksmanship, right from the beginning. After completing the required qualification, which left us a good bit of time for actual training. Many CCW classes simply have you shoot 100 rounds and do not care if you hit the target or not. We are required to have 4 hours of range time, and that we did. We moved on to target transitions, where I call their shot and they engage it. I then added mag changes to the drill and reducing the size of the target from 6" targets to 2" targets. Aim small, miss small. You are not going to hit bulls eyes every time. But, to see how close you actually are to the bulls eye, to include several bulls eyes, well that just made it very fun for both shooters. As they demonstrated more and more ability, I added more to the challenges. The risk level did increase, to include a challenge of having them do pushups to get a little winded, and then engage the target. To me, CCW is not a stationary 20' encounter on bright sunny day, with you being behind cover, and only one threat. Getting your breathing right and putting rounds on target were a huge eye opener for both shooters. As our range time was wrapping up, I offered to add some distance pistol shooting. As argued in the CB, "why do this in a CCW class"? A 25'-30' pistol shot is a common good shot to be on target. Hell, to even hit the target is good. For a pistol; for almost every CC scenario, anything over 30' and you should be thinking "how do I get out of this"? I do distance shots to prove something very simple. I drill slow, perfected fundamentals for every shot and build from there. Once you apply the proper shooting technique, you can put rounds on target. They shot at 30 meters, 50 meters and then a little over 80 meters. Are you going to hit steal every time? No. However; when you hit 7 out of 10 at 50 meters, having never shoot that distance before with a pistol, which is a great confidence builder. Then to move even further back; and still be able to hit the target, that's just great to enforce proper shooting technique. When I can spend 15 minutes with shooters and give them that experience, that is what makes the class different and more enjoyable than many of the other classes offered out there. I find distance pistol shooting to be very good for really making sure those core fundamentals are being executed correctly. As you said if you can iron out your shooting at distance, it makes you that much more confident to take that 10-20yard shot, and makes that 7 yard shot seem like child's play.
