Das Borgen
I already got a Hogue grip for it. I think that feels better in my hand

Otis Nice
I found a deal so good I thought there was something wrong with it, but I was happy to be proven wrong. You haven't shot it yet. For real thought, that's a heck of a first gun. Nice pickup.
Diamonds
I found a deal so good I thought there was something wrong with it, but I was happy to be proven wrong. Nah, nothing's wrong with the gun itself. All 40's are cheaper these days. My first gun was a USP 9mm, never looked back!
Rustlestiltskin
Great choice, although .40 :barf: Being srs though, I had the exact same gun. Shot great and flawless. Seems like most places have .40 pistols discounted a lot more than others. 9mm or .45acp master race
RyM3rC
USPs are good shooters, if a little odd feeling in the hand. Don't get too conditioned to that mag release, or you'll be ruined forever.
Das Borgen
Yeah I m not a big fan of the mag release though I can understand the cost and ambidextrousness were balanced in the design, having looked at the parts diagram and examining the gun when I took it down. Mojoe
Congrats on picking up your first handgun. Take your time and do things slow while you learn it. How you handle your first gun creates good habits, or the ones you need to break.

When I first starting shooting pistols I didn't pull the trigger correctly and I always shot to the left. I just got used to aiming a little to the right until it was second nature. It wasn't until I took a class that they taught me the correct way to pull the trigger. I had to relearn and it was bitch

RedRocket1647545505
slapped on a grip Ah, the Hogue grip. Every new pistol owners first mod. It'll eventually find its way into the trash can if you shoot it enough. Nice gun, though. Always liked the USPs. (Just not as much as Glock...) I've fired my buddy's with it and I quite loved it.. no more than a 100 rds I'd say. I've only dry fired mine and my hands are fairly big, so I didn't like the grip in that scenario

So, the higher you can choke up on the gun, the less torque it has on you. Those grips prevent getting a good high grip on the gun. No serious competition shooter runs them. That should tell you something. But, if you like it, use it.
Diamonds
Dude, the grip on the USP is already huge. Ditch the koozie.
