nurkvinny
Wife's Tahoe started a loud clunk that shakes the whole truck when turning sharply in either direction today. 180k miles. I'm still recovering from back surgery and can't get under it to do any diagnostics. Any common things on these rear ends? I'm hoping something stupid and cheap, lol. Geeesammy
Rear diff may have formed a leak and Is now low on fluid. At that mileage that's my main guess.
nurkvinny
No signs of a leak yet.
nurkvinny
Well, spiders are grenaded. I need advice. Pull center section for rebuild? Would I be able to find a used complete rear? I haven't had to screw with something like this for years. 2001 Tahoe with autoride or whatever it's called. From counting teeth, it's 3.73's. Cordell
If it all comes apart I'd rebuild it. I only hunt down a used diff if the old one gets seized and refuses to come apart.
