BIGGU
I am getting carpet done on monday and I want to re run the wires to my speakers and my sub. I want to run the speaker wire under my carpet as I have vaulted ceilings and I am on a slab so that is my only option. I know they sold flat speaker wire but I cant seem to find it. Does anyone know where to find the flat wire? Im probably going to go to a 16 Gauge so I dont have to change the wire later.
Rocky31186
Can you just run it along the tack strip instead of across the middle?
ForeverMaker
hard to tell but is this flat enough? http://www.microcenter.com/product/444133/50ft_Indoor_Speaker_Cable_(18-Gauge,_2-Conductor)_-_White
Trouble Maker
Need it short notice? I would try Home Depot, Lowes, Microcenter. I can't say for sure they have it, but I've bought spools of regular wire form one of the big box 'hardware' stores. I would be really surprised if one or all of them don't have what you are looking for. Try to make sure it's CL2 in wall rated. I would feel more comfortable with running that under carpet & in walls. If you have a few days to ship. http://www.PartsExpress.com or http://www.MonoPrice.com Monoprice has some really useful parts to clean up the wiring where it comes in and out of the walls, if that's your plan. Look at the keystone plates and jacks. Also as an FYI, low voltage doesn't need boxes in the walls like high voltage (120). Harbor Freight has some cheap and decent tools to run wiring in walls, in case you don't have any of that yet. The install I just did in my living room would have been impossible without them. http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=fishing+tape http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=fiberglass+wire
BIGGU
Can you just run it along the tack strip instead of across the middle? No matter which way I go around the room it will still have to go under carpet through a door, might as well just do the straight shot. Ive tried home depot / lowes/ best buy with no luck. I havent gone to microcenter but ill try that tomorrow after cars and coffee.

Turbs3000
Knukoncepts. This ^ but I also would strongly suggest going behind the trim.
