bmwohio
Starting to get into some higher weights on Squat and Deadlift and looking for weight belts, as I've had chronic lower back pain all my life from years of playing soccer. I'm all ears for suggestions, but not looking to spend $100+ on a leather weight belt, unless there is a big compelling notion to do so. Also not sure of the pros and cons or a 4" or 5" - Please help educate me on the matter. Quick search found these 2 on Rogue's site for $20 (4" and 5") Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks! http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-4-weightlifting-belt http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-5-weightlifting-belt

Zx2guy19
You 100% need to get one that buckles with something more than that strap. The one Andy posted is perfect.
Smokey
Kale, call our buddy big Rob with the white 5.0 M3. He'll tell you what you really need and also help you figure out your back pain as well. He's called you for enough BMW advice over the years he'll be happy to help. Let me know if you need his number.
bmwohio
nothing special, this is the one I use. i have no complaints it does it's job http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VH5MRS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. Andy, how does the size run? I think I'm about a 34 waist these days. I was probably going to go with Medium (31"-37") But didn't know if it was a rule of thumb to get it bigger or smaller than normal. Thanks, Chris....back pain has been getting better ever since i've been back to the gym regularly, just didn't want to re-aggravate the old injury. Was getting ready to start this program soon, so wanted to make sure i'm covered http://stronglifts.com/madcow/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm
BigOxley
big weight, i like the leather. MUCH more support. i like the nylon for low or medium weight higher rep stuff. but you can use the leather too with no issues. we have both rogue belts at my gym to use. if you buy the leather one, you'll never need to buy another belt
bmwohio
Thanks again for everyones' feedback. Chris, I got the video from your brother, thanks. #beastmode Looking to start 5x5 soon as I hit 275 1 RM on bench yesterday (barely), and would like to get to 315 by the end of the summer. Will probably place an order today
bmwohio
Thanks again for everyone's feedback. Belt is working well so far (went with the Valeo that Andy reco'd). Hit a new PR today with a 315 x5 on deadlift. Took some video to check my form (make sure I'm not arching my back too much).

bmwohio
Good work. Looks like you've been putting the time in. Thanks, and yes, about 4 (sometimes 5) days/week at the gym...I was told by another friend I need to 'initiate leg movement first and sit back more' so it looks like I still have some work to do with my form.... Zx2guy19
Good looking lift...definitely agree you need to sit a bit more. I DL'd this morning for the first time in a few months, my back feels amazing (for now).
