Moostang
So I'm trying to get the pump off to change it. I got the pulley off and all 4 bolts out. Been beating the crap out of it, with a rubber mallet, to no resolve. I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated..

TurboRust
Put your purse down and hit it with a real hammer.. unless you're trying to save it. Whack from the inside out towards the nose of the car.. it'll pop off
Moostang
I've tried hitting it with a normal hammer as well. Really hard because of the limited space.

Arthrfonzareli
Put a long bolt or a piece of pipe in one of the holes and pry on it.

zeitgeist57
I had to do the same thing on my BMW E36. Crazy how that snout/impeller in the block has a pretty tight tolerance!

Yea when I googled it, a ton of BMWs came up. Must be a common problem. I was worried about prying it out, being that both the pump and housing were aluminum. But I didn't cause any damage. If I don't count the incredible difficulty I had pulling it out, the project was rather easy.
