The unit is located by the back sliding door center of the house. I thought about moving it to the garage to offset the radius of the perimeter but would completely confuse the dogs. I charge the collars once every couple weeks. A+ for easy set up and works great for me. My dogs go no where near the edge. Each has been shocked once.
