I love this color, but my wife gave me 2 conditions - no "Easter Egg Blue" and no Orange. She said the blue was a chick color and she would continually challenge my sexuality if I bought one - the Orange was just freaking ugly:). Love that woman.

Yep my wife said the same on the blue, said that color is gay and vetoed. LOL Ended up with a 2015 and I missed white bad. So easy to clean and keep clean.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, and the new 'vettes are sick and all, but I'd love to see them throw back like the muscle cars of late. Gimme a newly designed 'vette inspired by a '55, '69, '71, or my all time fav corvette, a split window '63.

Magna Steyr has you covered, Randy. Retro-looking Vette on a C5/C6 chassis. A guy near my condo in FL has one and they really look good in person (not like some cheap kit, rebodied Fiero).

There's one of these in Powell that comes out for the shows occasionally, it's in red and I believe built on the ZR1.. one of those Rich Boy toys but DAMN does it look good.

I want to love the conversion but the proportions are all off...

Agreed. There was one at Polaris Cabela's cruise-in and looked ridiculous from the side. Stock door shells do not work with this look. Also, fake pass through exhaust tips out of the rear housed some type of lights and the stock exhaust exited below.

Poorly executed...

If you are a big enough fan of the vette you can find a lot of "retro" and "traditional" touches in nearly every modern version.

C5 convertibles brought back the waterfall between the seats of the original 1953-1962 cars and it continues on the the C7 generation. The side vent behind the front wheels, a corvette tradition since 1958, on the c7 cars the modern vent is reminescent of the C3 corvette vents, and the front chrome grill bar and rear taillight design is similar to the c3 chrome bumper cars and greenwood wide body race cars. The hood vents on the modern C7 are also very greenwood corvette.

And if that's not enough for you Karl's Kustom corvettes has a split window conversion that's better looking than the '53 retro car too:

That does look better than what Clay posted, but it's a conversion. I'm talking about Chevy releasing a remade split window.

Nevermind. If this is "retro split window" I don't want it. Or maybe I do. I dunno.

Wish GM would go retro with the 'vette from the factory.

It reminds me of the old Parma 1/10 rc car split window body which is why I think favorably on it:

GM takes the corvette too seriously to ever make it a novelty retro car.

When it was new people hated the split window. I don't think GM will ever build a car like that again but it will carry some of the other details. One of the details I love on the "mid year" c2 corvettes is the fact that the door cuts into the roof like an airplane or a gt40. I would love to see that again but the current platform doesn't support it.

Ugh when I look at that all I see is:

I am with you on that. It would be better if they painted that portion black. Look at a new Challenger sometime - Dodge painted that portion black to "slim down" the profile so it did not look so thick. Unfortunately I could not unsee that either.
