zeitgeist57
I did a post before several months ago for my 1978 Lincoln, but it's tough searching for "6x9" Can people please advise if you have any good used 6x9 speakers? don't need anything crazy, they will go in my '78 Continental, being powered by the factory headunit, maybe a lightly-amped aftermarket stereo down the road. May also need 4"(???) speakers for the door as well. Thanks, CR!
IVRINGS
6x9 suck from a size and sound point of view. Get a panel that fills the whole and you can put a 6 or 6.5 driver inside. It will sound much better.

zeitgeist57
Props to Tim (NHRATA) for letting me check out his 6x9's...when I realized they are 5x7s. My bad...I've been out of the aftermarket car stereo game for 15 years. Anyone have 5x7's?
Smokey
I've got a set of Kenwood 5x7s out if the FD. they've got one bent mounting tab each but otherwise good. These: http://www.cnet.com/products/kenwood-kfc-hq575c-speaker-for-car-wired/specs/ $20 and they're yours
zeitgeist57
Hey, Chris...thanks a ton! Those 5x7's honestly sound amazing. It's funny how a factory 1978 head unit sounds through modern speakers - still has plenty of power and clarity. Let me know if you find those door speakers.
Smokey
Glad to hear they worked out. I'm hoping to get time to take apart the doors before my next track event, but have to tackle the mechanical stuff first.
