It is a monster.

Forrest Gump 9
There's one couple years back with EIGHT turbos

BStowers023
I like the junkyard builds. I remember an article a few years back where a shop made like 800+hp on a stock 5.3 from a junkyard and like 150k miles or something with a big single (I think) turbo kit. GM Iron blocks are fucking tough man
zeitgeist57
HOT ROD Did that article. The icing on the top was that when they pulled the engine apart they found out it was a 4.8L!
Stretch
Love builds like this. Wish I had the time and space to do one myself

Dammit Charlie
A buddy of mine in Cleveland has a turbo 4.8 powered fox, the complete engine is stock minus the turbo setup and fuel setup. Makes 500ish to the tire on a stock cam and heads, his goal is to be in the 10's on a completely stock 4.8. It's insane.
caseyctsv
My understanding is the 4.8 is great for boost as the block Is stronger than the 5.3. I think externally they are the same size but the cylinders are smaller leaving more material in the block.

I heard a lot of the same stuff but also that the stroke was shorter which put a lot less stress on the crank. Looking at that kids setup, the only advantage I can figure out is that he's moving more air than a two turbo setup. I think they are all the same size turbo so one is not spooling the other sequentially.
