zeitgeist57 Posted January 3, 2017 Report Share Posted January 3, 2017 I've warmed up to widebody kits since drifting became a lot more popular, and RWB/Rocket Bunny/etc added to the craze. Props to "Han" from TF&F movie chain for coming up with a couple of interesting projects. I gotta say that Maverick looks awesome and the uniqueness really ticks the boxes for me. For all the sh!t that '70s/80s American cars get from that era, it would be cool to see more modern Mustang/Camaro powertrains transplanted into older "light" RWD cars. IMSA cars made this all the rage back then with stuff like the Greenwood vettes, Lister Jaguar xjs, and Mclaren M81's. When I was a kid there was a guy who lived in montauk with a 71 challenger with huge box flares on it. It was pretty funny looking. Point is, a lot of this stuff is still out there, you don't see it because it's only starting to come back now and for a long time was considered over the top gaudy and crude. They had more details on the car including that it was purchased from an insurance auction in Portland Oregon in 2014 as a theft recovery, and that the engine is completely blown up. I believe when he was on Jay leno's car show, (which was about the Z), Leno asked him what he would do next and I *believe* his response was a Maverick, to which Leno kind of scoffed like that was a ridiculous car to build.
