I'd imagine when he changed the front sprocket he didn't bother to replace the chain. If it's in decent shape you can take 2 links out and replace them with one master link. I'd have to see a close up of the chain links but a good cleaning' date=' proper length and adjustment and you should be ok. 5k miles isn't enough to warrant replacement.. unless he didn't care for it at all.[/quote']

Well, I hate to impose but when could you take a look?? :) I've never taken a link out of a chain, and actually I think the guy gave me the link tool to do it. Hate to jack it up!

If you can't take a look, can you recommend someone? thanks!
