blue98ls1
Thought it was time to make a project thread for the project car. Earlier this year we picked up a 2000 Camaro SS 6spd. Kind of an early Anniversary gift. Anthony wanted another 6spd Fbody and I missed the one I used to daily so we found this one. It was cheap and needed some work. The paint on the hood/trunk/rear bumper was missing clear coat in a lot of places. The hood/trunk had paint missing down into the fiberglass in a few spots. The tires had belts showing, transmission is meh etc. She needed alot of help! The day we brought it home: First things first... fix the hood/trunk because of the paint being gone to the fiberglass. These hoods are getting expensive and I didn't want it to be completely ruined. I work at a car lot and we have a lot of contacts. A guy that does body work for the lot hooked me up on getting it all fixed up. Right after the paint work: So considering we have had a bunch of these cars we of course had some spare parts sitting around. Bolted up a strut tower brace, SLP lid, a panhard bar etc.... Lid isn't on in this pic: I have driven this car a lot over the summer. At least 3x a week since we bought it. Its been a good driver, if you baby the transmission. I had Anthony's Corvette wheels on it until we put some new tires on the factory wheels about 2 weeks ago. For whatever reason it decided to do it, I don't know... but I put the old wheels back on and it picked up a bad vibration. I thought maybe one of the tires or a wheel was bad... but no such luck. After putting it up on the rack it seems the 10-bolt decided to take a shit. :dumb: Lucky for the car, we have a 3 channel 10 bolt sitting in our garage that was a low mileage pickup that we where originally going to drop into Anthony's car or keep as a backup for the Orange car. Looks like the Red car gets it now. There is a lot of play in the axles on the red car, so we are using Anthony's stock axles out of his old 10 bolt to make this 3 channel rear end work in the 4 channel car. This project is taking place this weekend. Carnage pics coming soon. Edited October 11, 2018 by wannaraceLS1
