BuckeyeROC
Any space to run an external ATF cooler? Plenty of space, especially with the AC condenser out now, but we didn't plan on it. We actually didn't plan on replacing the radiator though either, we just found the stocker leaking last week.

BuckeyeROC
Short night tonight. Just cut and bent the trans fluid line to the radiator that I needed and put the air filter housing back on. Waiting for the spill proof funnel kit to arrive for the coolant. Will take care of that this weekend then redo the upper ball joint boots if they show up soon. Then start on the weatherstrip. 20190620_170159 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 20190620_173825 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr Edited June 21, 2019 by BuckeyeROC

BuckeyeROC
You are making a lot of progress, when do you think is will be roadworthy? Thanks man. I'd like to say about 2 weeks, but who knows. I spent from 8 AM until 5 PM today working on our deck, which still needs a lot of work, too. I discovered the windshield washer fluid reservoir/pump leaking last night and pulled it out early this morning (had to remove 2.5 body panels to do it). Doing my best to get it on the road and out of my garage. This had me worried, I thought it was a coolant leak for awhile, since the washer fluid and old DexCool coolant were the same orange color. Ordered a new pump. 45 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr Edited June 24, 2019 by BuckeyeROC
BuckeyeROC
Finally got back around to the upper ball joints this morning. Took them off the car. The retainers are trashed. The machine shop clearly installed them wrong. I just ordered 2 Moog's as replacements.
BuckeyeROC
The only other thing we did today on the car was replace the old headlights with LED's. These are the 2018 New Osram Chips 110W 5x7's. Fit and plugged right in. Man what a nice difference! A lot more light and these have nice cutoffs to not blind other drivers. Now off to work on the deck again. 50 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 51 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 52 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 53 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 54 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr
BuckeyeROC
Finally, some more progress! The Moog upper ball joints came today. Got them installed and torqued down. Greased all the zerks with Schaeffer's 238 Ultra Supreme. Front suspension is finally done...again! Ran into a problem with the new washer fluid pump. The new rubber washer is thicker than the stock one and the filter nut can't thread on. I just ordered a new filter nut and will be going to the hardware store for a thinner rubber washer soon. 63 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 61 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 62 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr

BuckeyeROC
Where did you get those headlights? Project is rolling right along! Thanks! Amazon, I think around $80 for the pair. I wasn't too sure about the looks, but saw some great reviews about their performance. My daughter likes them bc they look Transformer-ish, which I think they kind of do too. BuckeyeROC
SUCCESS!!! Had some time to work on it today. Got the windshield washer filter nut in and everything buttoned up there. We added the coolant and burped the system, got the power steering fluid and diff fluid replaced. Also added some emergency hood release cables. Just in case the stock cable pops on this thing. Went on a test drive and bedded the new brakes. Drives nice, much better than before. We just want to get the weatherstrip done then take it for an alignment. Feels good to be winding down here. Updated project list above in post #78. BuckeyeROC
Back at it yesterday and today. All that is left is the weatherstripping. We had to tear apart both doors, take off old weatherstrip and clean. Got both outer window pieces and both pieces that seal the door to the body installed so far. Going to install the rear/targa top piece tomorrow and hopefully front piece as well. We're having to fix some interior trim pieces as we go, too. Then the rest of the inner window pieces at some point. No pics bc I'm tired.
BuckeyeROC
Spent a couple more hours on the weatherstripping today, my daughter had some social obligations but I wanted to keep making progress. Got the large front piece around the windshield off and cleaned out the track. It's time consuming work getting the tracks cleaned out. Here are some pics so you can see what we're dealing with. Example of the old weatherstrip, much of it was like this: 7 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr Cleaning out the channels: 6 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 1 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 2 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr The 4 pieces we currently have installed are along the outside of the 2 door windows and the pieces that seal the doors to the body. 5 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 3 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 4 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr
BuckeyeROC
Spent a few more hours on the weatherstrip today. Got some loose trim glued back down and installed some new carpet on a door panel. Got the large front (around windshield) and rear pieces installed. Removed, cleaned the tracks, and installed the new pieces at the top of the windows on the targa top. All that should be left is to adjust the windows, complete the door panel carpet and repair, install the inner window linings on the door panels, and put the doors back together. 15 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 2 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 4 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 3 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 1 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr Edited August 11, 2019 by BuckeyeROC
BuckeyeROC
So the new inner window liners were to be stapled into the plastic door panel. I had a heavy duty manual stapler and tried that last weekend... fail. So this week I looked online and bought the highly rated Stanley electric staple gun... fail. So here's what we ended up doing: 1. Pulling the staples apart individually from the line of staples. 2. Holding the inner liner to the panel and drilling a hole through both, then lining up a staple and drilling a 2nd hole. 3. Putting the staple through the drilled holes by hand. 4. Bending the staple with needle nose pliers. 5. Repeat over and over for each staple. FINALLY, we completed it and got the panels re-installed. So that is EVERYTHING that we set out to do on this car, plus all the things that we ran into along the way. I'll call Monday to setup an alignment. I'M OFFICIALLY CALLING THIS PROJECT COMPLETE That said, I did buy her a special B-day present for the car that I will post in a few weeks. 22 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 23 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr 21 by BuckeyeBOSS, on Flickr
