Gergwheel1647545492
Anyone know if there is a shop locally that rebuilds starters? OEM from the dealership is $600, figured it can't be that hard(expensive) to rebuild one. Its for a 2015 Honda Fit with 74k miles, pretty sad that the starter didn't last longer than that. POS VETT
Somewhere on Rt. 33 in Dublin, there is an outfit that rebuilds starters, alternators, motors, and generators. I can't remember the name of the place. There used to be a small shop by downtown owned by Mr. Le who rebuilt these things. I believe it's no longer in business, such a shame. I had the alternator on my previous '85 upgraded and rebuilt by him for $70.
Geeto67
HITE Parts exchange - 2235 McKinley ave 43204. http://www.hiteparts.com They do rebuilds onsite but not sure if it will be cheap. I know they are the only place that will rebuild NLA wwerido motorcycle starters, but their bread and butter is cars.

RS69
Cliff’s starter and alternator repair service. He rebuilds starters and alternators for NAPA and other retail locations in central Ohio. He is located on Horseshoe Road outside Delaware and is half the price for a rebuilt one at the part stores. He has rebuilt my starter in my 87 vette, my Honda quad runner and the alternator in my duramax. It takes him about two days due to his work load. Trouble Maker
Sorry I forgot to respond on the Facebooks, but this reminded me of it. I unfortunately don't know anything about this issue and since I am here don't really have my resources to reach out to. The getting someone to rebuild yours sounds like a great direction from others input here. I didn't even know something like that was still a thing. gillbot
I've rebuilt my own in the past but getting parts is hard anymore. Most just have them rebuilt or get remans.

Called Cliff, he wanted $120 to rebuild, or $140 for a new reman. ADV wanted $135 for a lifetime warranty starter, so that route didn't make sense. Reman from rock auto $200 ?? Ordered a reman from Amazon for $67 and got to keep my core. Might have to tear into it and see about rebuilding it myself for a backup.
