gillbot
Not surprising to me. My old work truck was a RAM, took me 3 years to rack up 264k on it and it never caused me one issue or left me stranded. Brakes, oil and tires and it just kept going. gillbot
How many transmissions did the caravan eat @ that mileage? Our old work vans were caravans and like clockwork the trans would shit itself at 70-75k.
Forrest Gump 9
Back in early 2008 I found an 2006 S65 AMG in Texas with 196,000 miles.
Mace1647545504
I had 2 caravans well the 94 was a voyager ..94 with 120k and a 98 with 150k on it. Neither had trans issues. The 98 popped the timing belt, replaced it and it continued to purr along. But a friend on mine had one the tranny went at about 100k
gillbot
Our leases ended at 75k because the transmissions never lasted past that. We’d turn them in and get a new one while the lease company would dump them off used on some poor soul.
Otis Nice
Folks had a '95 Caravan back in the day. 4 banger. Never an issues. Ran it to ~180k IIRC. Took it over the mountains on fam vacay's and what have ya. STUPID slow and underpowered but it always ran. That's prob a diff gen altogether than you're talking though, gill. gillbot
Ours were 2k7’ish +/- My boss has one now, he’s on his 2nd or 3rd transmission already. He bought it on my advice, but forgot I told him to dump it around 60k. They eat brakes too.

TurboRust
That's crazy. CaravanLOL. I'm buying a 17/19 Grand Caravan for Smokeout catering here soon. No worries.. change the fluid and don't sweat.. I did side work for a courier that never had 1 tranny go out in 600k over different vans. every 30k he had me changing fluid and filters. Turbs3000
We used to get t&c /caravans/routans into the auction all the time with 300-500k miles on them. 2015 And earlier had 100k powertrains too which was always nice. TurboRust
Those trans are now sealed and have to be serviced by the dealership. the dealer wants you to think they have to service it rtv on the pan, there is a serviceable filter, special tool(notched dipstick) and a chart to check it against the fluid level vs temp. hillbilly explaination-- filter- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0031H4TQA/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Dodge%7C40&Model=Grand%20Caravan%7C305&Year=2018%7C2018&ie=UTF8&newVehicle=1&vehicleId=6&vehicleType=automotive special tool- https://www.amazon.com/TRANSMISSION-DIPSTICK-Chrysler-INSTRUCTIONS-Dealer/dp/B072HF1JSG/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=62te+dipstick&qid=1612575231&s=automotive&sr=1-4 Edited February 6, 2021 by TurboRust
