Engineering and Exercise Science

We have 2 positions opening next year for career tech instructors. Both our Engineering program and the Exercise Science program instructors are leaving. If you don't have a teaching license don't let that stop you if you are an expert in the field. Most of us did not have licenses to begin with.

POSITION: Exercise Science Instructor

REPORTS TO: Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Candidate must have a valid Ohio teaching certificate/license to teach

Diversified Health Occupations (Course Code 070998).

● Minimum of RN, BSN, or higher preferred, plus five years of clinical

experience in Physical Therapy, Fitness, or related fields.

RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to Job Description 316, successful candidate will:

● Prepare and teach Exercise Science in accordance with the Ohio

Department of Education’s course structure for Exercise Science and

Sports Medicine to high school students at our Career Campus in Plain

City, Ohio.

● Assist in supervision of students in a clinical setting and potential

internship placement.

● Supervise student participation in career technical student organization

(HOSA).

● Be eligible to deliver College Credit Plus curriculum or be willing to

become eligible.

● Knowledge of certification requirements and programs for Exercise

Science through NASM and/or ACE. Certification in either preferred.

SALARY & CONTRACT: Salary based on experience and credentials. 189 day contract first year

for new teachers; 185 days in subsequent contracts.

● Teaching experience and/or industrial work experience in the

Engineering/Manufacturing field preferred.

● Provide instruction to 10th through 12th grade students in the

areas of Engineering and Manufacturing.
