The article says that the truck was making a left turn at the same time he was attempting to pass. Sounds like the truck pulling the camper also had his left turn signal on. Still sucks though. RIP. I doubt he was riding a sportster prob. a big bagger and wasn't going that fast. I'd put money on that the leading cause of death was head trauma.
