Bad324
When I bought my 05 600rr, the guy I bought it from said it has a gutted stock exhaust. It sounds pretty loud but I have not heard a regular stock exhaust in person to know the difference.Would it be a huge difference and are there any ill effects of running a gutted muffler? My buddy at work seems to think there is but with me being new to bikes I have no idea.
V4junkie
No ill effects as in engine damage. Old technology and such used to have problems with valves floating and burning up, that really doesn't happen anymore. If you're not mapped for it you probably lost a hp or two. f4isvt
loss of backpressure as well as real low rpm torque at least on mine thats what I discovered
magifesq
It basically acts like a slip-on pipe, take it to our shop and we can dyno tune it for a reasonable price. Stock guts take out all the sound, might as well be riding a sewing machine
fungames43232
It's a pretty common thing to do. I have seen it many times. Most say to keep it due to the lack of low end you will have after.
Bad324
Think I will be definitely keeping it for now at least
35RFTW
Like Mike said, bring it by our shop. If you have a powercommander or some other type of fuel controller, I can get it dialed in for you!
