I've given up.

I can't get it to work for the life of me.

-plugged/unplugged via usb to the computer

-uninstalled and reinstalled remote/itunes/bonjour

-restarted both computer and iphone

-windows firewall off

-no anti virus software that might have a secondary firewall

- checked "find remote iphone" in itunes settings

-double checked both are on the same wi-fi network.

gives me the passcode on the iphone but in itunes it wont show up at all as a remote. shows up as the normal iphone device with music/movies/apps/etc but no remote icon to enter the passcode.

iphone 3.0/itunes 9.0/windows xp.

Try to go in via iPhone again and hit add library. Then it should give ou the passcode. At the same time, make sure iTunes is up and running and connected to wifi. The passcode screen should pop up. Or is that the other way around?

I'll test it when I get home because I need to resync

mine.

how do i know if its connected to the wifi? i mean its on and the wifi is up and im on the internet browsing, but is there anything special to make sure itunes is connected?

ps i can browse through the itunes store just fine.

As long as your phone shows the wifi bars and your computer can get on the internet, you're set for wifi.

Ok,

1. Make sure iTunes is closed when you start.

2. Make sure your computer and iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network

3. Open Remote on your iPhone

4. Select "Add Library"

5. Open iTunes

6. Click on the device as it shows up on the left bar

7. The passcode screen should pop up

8. Enter passcode shown on iPhone into computer

9. Hit Enter

10. Enjoy

Hope that works!

I think you have to be connected for the initial setup.. I set mine up at work no problem. Haven't done it at home yet.

Nope don't have to be connected. All wireless.

I use an Airport Extreme from Apple so it's all very compatible. Sorry , I can't help.

won't work at step 6. ive given up on it as its the network, i asked another dude with iphone and he couldn't get his to work either, yet it works at his parents.

This is a bit of a mystery - the process was very slick for me. Are you on iTunes 7.7 or later and iPhone OS 2.0 or later?
