Incriminator audio is usually expensive (first link in post #27) but still better than a JL IMO

Mach 5 is a great company out of canada and very good price

you can choose the "qt" to either high-sealed enclosures, or low-ported

mach 5 isnt on the same level as a w7..dp seems comparable, same price. same price i will go jl w7.

Maybe I'm just too far out of the loop, but those other brands don't seem that good. I'm not a big fan of paper cones, and all the "gimmicks" they list as features...

never heard of that mach 5. hows the SQ? what materials are they made of? it looked like foam and paper in the picture. those death penalties are just ridic.

Yea the surround is foam. The paper cones are better for your MMS (rather than a plastic/aluminum/other) and often just as strong.

were not in a marine environment lol (but i see what your saying)

if your comparing 450 subs check this out. Its a sound splinter sub that was designed by TC sounds (biiig sub build house in the US) I believe this is their 4hp motor design.

The OP is looking for something to put in a boat. Not saltwater, but stuff on a boat is considered marine, typically. Aquariums, saltwater is considered marine.

I looke at those Soundsplinters, and their Premium line looke decent. The one that you linked to, the supreme looks like more bling than sing to me. I haven't heard either to know, just my impression from their site.
