Anyone raise Pheasants or Chukars?

Just wondering? The place we hunt charges $20 a bird. I thought about trying to raise some on my own in the late spring. No eggs, chicks. For food, hobby, just release, maybe get into dogs? I raised chickens before. They are dirty. Guess I could raise and hunt chickens.

They are inexpensive.

I wouldn't call them cheap to raise. If you want some good healthy birds you're going to need to decent flying pen to keep them in...$$$$. I'll ask my friend, he gets birds for less then $20 ea. I think last time we got some they were only in the $10-14 range and these birds were quick to get up and fly which is what you want.

I found a breeder in Ohio for about $6ish. It does seem like a good, bad idea.

That burning chicken picture is horrible. And i like hunting. Just wrong.
