STABOR1122
I am thinking about make a trip to Haspin Acres in Laurel, Indiana this Sunday. I have never been there but looks pretty nice from the website. Has anyone been there recently? Any thoughts on it in general? Is it a good place to ride a quad? Thanks. STABOR1122
I would love to check out Wayne but I haven't had the title put in my name yet, so I can't get the plate yet. I have never been to Wayne but I have heard it's the best ridning area in Ohio.
serpentracer
a long time ago the place wasn't the place to ride anything. the buggy guys had it too rutted up to get a 4 wheeler or dirt bike anyplace.
STABOR1122
That is what I was concerned about. That and not getting run over by them. I was kinda hoping there would be some areas to ride that the buggies and trucks couldn't get to.
oldschoolsdime92
Last time i was at haspen, it was a recipe for disaster on most hills. You never knew if you were going to collide with someone at the crest of the hill. The main trails were okay, but if you got off the beaten path it was bad. STABOR1122
Sounds like maybe it might not be worth the 2 hour drive. Any other suggestions that are not public lands? Will be getting the title transferred soon so I can get the state tag, but I just won't have the time to do it before this weekend. The closer to the Dayton area the better. 20thGix
I havent been in a few years but there are 2 motocross tracks. One big and another small. Plenty of trails to ride also. Also you can try Devils Staircase and spend the rest of the day with a flat or bent rim. IMO its more fun just to sit at the bottom and whatch. When i first started going 7 years ago or so it was like the wild west. Seemed like no rules with the alchohol flowin. Mainly with the truck/buggy crowd. Last time i went it seemed alittle more organized. Also if you break down or get stuck DO NOT leave whatever your ridin or driving unattended. Especially at night. A guy i work with goes all the time and says that people will strip out your truck if caught in the trails unattended. He slept in his broke down truck one night just to make sure it wasnt sittin on blocks by sun up. Also ive seen a POS ford taurus get stuck by a mud hole by the drag strip. He walked away then 2 trucks from the other direction started running it over. Wild west i tell ya. It may have changed but its still fun for what it is. STABOR1122
WOW. That is crazy. I appreciate the info from everybody. Sounds like I might just hold off on checking it out for now. Sounds a little rough.
gixxie750
I love HASPEN! Dont be scared just dont ride fast in blind corners!
jermattak
Haspin is great, I've never ridden a quad there, but the hardcore single track stuff is a blast. But yes, you have to be careful on crests on the wider trails on the weekends. The 4x4 guys will run your ass over
STABOR1122
Hmmm...About half and half now. Anyone know about Big Rock Off-Road Park in Maysville, KY?
STABOR1122
Anybody been to Big Rock? I am also curious about Happy Hollow between Bainbridge and Hillsboro. I have heard it is mostly just hillclimbs though. Not many trails? Thanks.
