Sometimes the gestational sac is empty, but the body keeps going on like it's pregnant. Same operation has to be done. Lots of reasons for it to be done other than abortion.And if you ever tell a woman who had to have it done because of a miscarriage she had an abortion, she'll probably kick you in the nuts repeatedly. Had to go to the ER a few days later. The ultrasound tech in the ER asked her, "so why didn't you want to keep the baby?".
