Article:An Egyptian dad has reportedly named his newborn daughter “Facebook” in honor of the social network, which protesters used to organize the massive demonstrations against former President Hosni Mubarak. - Gamal Ibrahim, who is in his 20s, named his child “to express his joy at the achievements made by the January 25 youth,” according to a CNN report that cites Al-Ahram, a popular Egyptian newspaper. TechCrunch translated part of the Al-Ahram article. “The girl’s family, friends, and neighbors in the Ibrahimya region gathered around the new born to express their continuing support for the revolution that started on Facebook,” it reportedly states. “‘Facebook’ received many gifts from the youth who were overjoyed by her arrival and the new name. A name that shocked the entire world.” Indeed, the name “Facebook” is shocking. How’d you like to be named, say, “Google”? Oh, wait … someone already is named Google. As Business Insider points out, in 2005 a Swedish search-engine expert named his son Oliver Google Kai.
