OhioBob
Hi, I just was wondering about the sportbike arena. How is the power delivery different among the following sportbikes:- Honda CBR1000RR (2008 or later)- Suzuki GSXR-750/1000- Yamaha R1 (cross-plane)- Kawasaki ZX-10R- BMW S1000RRJust am wondering.Thanks.OhioBob
kawi kid
I think you are gonna have to be a little more specific as to what you are looking for bob.

Disclaimer
It goes '98 GSXR 750... then pretty much your list, in reverse order.
Cypress
That S1000 is pushing something like 190hp. I'm pretty sure that would be your top pick.
kawi kid
Unless he was talking about usable power. There is prob some wasted there.

There is prob some wasted there. From the thread DTM Brian posted here, with an akro and pc its 189hp @ 12675 rpm to the wheel; not too far off
kawi kid
but can you use all of it. can you make use of all the extra power on the street? thats what im getting at. im not arguing just asking if the extra money for all the ponies is worth not being able to use them properly. cOoTeR
Use them properly? I think it is difficult to use the power of any sportbike properly on the street. Definitely not legally.

max power
I dont think you would see any noticeable difference on the street. All of them will cause major sphincter pucker with alarming quickness.
alienpi
I've ridden the new R1 and the BMW S1000RR on the track, and I'd choose the S1000RR because it's much easier to control at low speed than the R1. I think the excellent low speed ride-ability makes it a much better street candidate. They both have smooth power delivery once you get going. Cypress
Use them properly? I think it is difficult to use the power of any sportbike properly on the street. Definitely not legally. I'm not into top speed anymore. 150mph was my fastest and I don't plan on doing it again. I'm just looking for what can get me to 65mph the quickest.
