Jamez
Bought a new face shield from motorcycle superstore for my HJC AC-12 helmet.I purchased the anti-fog smoke ( HJ-09 )http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/mobile/ItemPage.aspx?DivisionGroupId=1&DivisionId=1&DepartmentId=69&ItemStyleId=7177It seemed very flimsy until it was installed on the helmet. After a few days I found the anti-fog property to work well but ill know more when the weather cools down.Biggest problem I have is that there is pegs now built onto the shields on each side that gets in my periferal vision.Seems like a nice shield besides the pegs. Anyone know what these are for and why they started putting them on? Edited July 12, 2011 by Jamez

Jamez
I did look at that one actually but was scared about the durability of the mirror finish.Forgive the dumb question but what is a dual shield for?
curby
it's an anti fog system for very cold weather, mainly snow mobile riding. is this what your talking about?

mike884
could be pinlock?http://www.amazon.com/HJC-Pinlock-Anti-Fog-Lens-Yellow/dp/B001PN62VC
shadyone
i had a HJC with a mirrored shield before i got my helmet last year. i really liked it but it scratched way too easy. so i just went with the dark smoke for my newest one. CBBaron
Probably pins for a Pinlock lens. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/69/18836/ITEM/HJC-Pinlock-Anti-Fog-Lens.aspxThese lenses insert inside the shield to provide a dual layer shield. This basically eliminates fogging under nearly all conditions. I commute by motorcycle and got the pinlock shield and lens to prevent fogging on cold/drizzling days. Works great.Craig
