stock muffler on aftermarket header?

I ripped my Arata can in half. the headers and lead-pipe are flawless.

As long as the diameter is the same, is there any reason I can't buy a $25 stock exhaust can off eBay and stick that on the Arata headers?

or possibly some other brand?

I would have the bike tuned after any change like that. It's due anyway...

This will only be relevant if I can't fix the Arata can, but that's going to require buying a rivet gun, and some pretty precise bending of metal... I'm not optimistic.

Not sure I'd go with "stock" as they're typically heavily baffled aren't they?

I'd look into a new or used aftermarket replacement just so you know it won't change your backpressure much.......but either way you're right to get a retune after the repair

Call up Arata and see how much a sleeve and tube are. If need by get some packing also, then just rebuild the thing using you're existing end caps.

That would be the first thing I'd look at doing. Next, I'd look for a used Arata slipon for cheap. Again, just use the sleeve and your end caps and be done with it.

I would NOT put a stock can on as it will be a LOT more restrictive compared to the Arata.
