Hoblick
no need to tripple check for a heavy spot.find it once , counter balance with weights, i duct tape them to the wheel to test for correct weight, once i find the weight needed stick em on!sometimes youll find if you hold the wheel with the weights on either side it will stay perfectly still, but hold on the opposite side and it may drift a tad then stop. its no big deal, its close enough.. ive done countless tires, and never had an issue myself, nor have i had anyone complain of any issues.i can attest to the accurancy of a gravity balancer like your using.. 100+ mph down the track with no troubles
buildit
Two issues I've found with them is 1. the set screws can make the tapered piece shift which is why I only tighten the rings outside the springs. 2. The set screws can dent the center bar causing the rod to not roll evenly across the outer bearings. Of course this is knowing that the bearings in the wheel are perfect. Now I don't do this every day but I'd rather double check by checking the weighted spot 3 times. Oh and year should have been annotations on the video saying tape the weights to the rim before attaching them.
