Not a bad upper for playing around or a first build. Very easily upgraded.

Maybe someone has a lower already built? Or they have an a2 upper and want a flat top?

Or maybe someone wanted their own special customized lower and did not want a cookie cutter.

Or like Kawi said, you already have a nice lower with a 20" or 24" bull upper and just want another upper to shread paper or plates with?

Pretty cheap for a completed upper ready to snap in the tinker toy.

That is super tempting just for just using it as a dedicated 22 upper. Shit my barrel alone was more then the entire upper you posted.

Just get a CMMG upper if you want a .22 upper they come with a .22 bolt for that same price.

That's not to bad of a price. Its getting close to the point where I want to do my ar build, maybe I should start shopping around. I know they were doing awesome group buy kits on afcom for a while, but I don't see those anymore. It used to be Stag everything, with a lpk, upper, 6-pos stock and buffer assembly for like $500. This would come out to the same price or thereabouts too (I always ballpark lpk's and the 6-pos tactical stocks with buffer assemblies at $60 a piece).

Looking at the bolt on CMMG's website, it looks like their standard conversion bcg. So theoretically you should just be able to put a standard bcg into their upper and it would shoot .223/5.56 (and it says it "maintains compatibility with all the same parts and accessories that fit your full caliber AR's")

You can't shoot the 223 or 556 out of that cmmg set up can you? I was thinking my next would be back and forth between indoor and outdoor shooting so I wanted the ability for both.

This is true. There is no gas tube and the barrell extension is different along with the twist rate and chamber size.

By standard CMMG means the upper receiver hand guards, barrel nut gas block and flash hider. You would have to get a different barrel and a gas tube to be able to shoot 223/556 out of one of the dedicated .22 upper
