oldschoolsdime92
The last three sets of tires I have bought have been conti motions and I have gotten about 8k from a set. How far have you gone on yours? What kind of tires?
Moto-Brian
I got two 10 lap sprints out of a set of UK Dunlop Slicks before. That was pushing it as they were pretty toast...
conn-e-rot
I got over 9k out of pirelli diablo strada rear and my buddy took the front and put another 5k on it.
NinjaNick
All street riding on Pilot Powers 3k miles....Dunlop Roadsmarts 6k miles and stick just as well on street.I'm using Pirelli Angels this season. They're ready to mount and balance. All numbers are recorded when there is no tread left. Ive had PPs go before 3k before. I don't do burnouts either. I am just hamfisted. conn-e-rot
I got around 7 or 8k out of the angels they still had a good bit of tread left probably another 3-5k but they cupped front and rear and I was leaving for Sturgis so I swapped them out for avon storm 2 ultra
ReconRat
On the 919s:Qualifiers, one year on rears, two years on fronts. That's 6k to 10k each year. That's riding the rears till the cord shows, most of the time. I replace fronts early. RoadSmarts now, and too early to tell. But over one year on the rears and not much wear shows at all.Since I have two bikes, each is now putting on half the miles it used to.edit: I'm going to say that for sport tires, it's more about comfort with how and when the tire breaks loose on various road surfaces. There's lots of great tires, but once you find what you like, you tend to stick with it. Edited March 4, 2012 by ReconRat
NinjaNick
I'm anxious to try them. They were a but cheaper at motosport.com than my Roadsmarts so I figured I'd try them. Hope I get 7k as well. The Smarts impressed me. I was pissed after wasting cash on PPs for 5 seasons.
wicked94s10
last summer I put 12000 on a set of pr3s, my second set last season was a pr2 front and pr rear, I have about 10000 miles on them and still rolling, I also change my tires with rubber still on them I'm not one to ride them into the belts
Helmutt
I like the RoadSmarts on bigger bikes, they tolerate the higher HP & TQ as well as highway mileage. I ran my set the majority of last season and still look near new - I plan to buy a spare set of wheels to mount Q2's for occasional trackdays and mile runs so I wont kill my only set for street. For the FZ, its down to riding style for you Oldschool, but most any good dual compound will out perform the tires you have on it now
THE GRUNDISH
I can get about 1 stunt show with any brand new tire..... I might be able to get two shows if I baby them..... just saying
jlhsv
I got 10k out of the OE Dunlop D220's. 8.6k out of a set of Conti road attacks I'm gonna try a set of the Conti motions this year, if they ever get here. Backorderd for 2 weeks now.
fizzer
10.5k out of a set of Pilot Roads, 3.5k so far on a set of PR2's with hardly any wear.
RSparky
My pr2s seemed like they would last forever on the 650. Looked new when I sold it with 4500 on them.
magley64
angel ST got 7000, pds got 8000, giving the avon storms 2 a run this summer first half...
Hoblick
got 9 - 10k out of a set of pilot road 2s
mango_sv
10k with tread to spare on PR2s. I usually end up changing them out before they are toast cuz I'm making a road trip and want fresh rubber. They get passed on to a buddy who stunts to finish them off. mango_sv
Stock Bridgestones 8500 with room to go...... but I ride in straight lines.Straight lines are what kills most street tires.
conn-e-rot
Straight lines are what kills most street tires.Yep my tires usually have plenty of tread left on the sides but worn out in the middle because of too many highway miles
motozachl
I went about 15k on a set of dunlops with no belt showing yet. Going to a new set of rubbers was amazing since I do lots of highway riding (commutor bike) and the tires weren't so rounded any more.
