The "tsunami Harley washes up in Canada" story...

By now, I'm guessing we've all seen the news story.

I forwarded it to my buddy in Osaka, and this is his response:

In Japan, to keep the motorcycles is very hard…

If you have a garage big enough to keep your cars and motorcycles it will be OK….

If you do not have it, you have to PARK your Harley outside.

Then you wake up and ready to ride it, the Harley will not be there…

So many people get the container or TRUCK-deck with roof to keep the bikes inside and LOOK the door.

This News is NOT “Harley is reaching to CANADA”, this should be the “garage with a bike reached to CANADA”.

He told me a long time ago that in order to buy a car in Japan, you have to prove that you have someplace to park it. A spot that you own (garage, driveway, etc), other than parking it on the street. If you can't "store" the vehicle, you can't buy it. Too little space.

The owner has been located, he's alive and he'd like to get his bike back.

What he described is exactly as you mentioned, the truck box the bike was in sat in his back yard and acted as a garage.
