redbarron77
I have the Honda Shadow, with a tank capacity of 3.7 gallons. With some gas stations in TX over 200 miles apart, this kind of concerns me for some trips I'd like to try.Anyone know where I can look at an aftermarket/compatible tank for my bike?I'd like to look at 5 gals, but don't know if that is practical/do-able. Edited May 24, 2012 by redbarron77 don't know why I typed vtx...probably from all the tank searches...
Helmutt
Don't the big VTX's ( 1800 ) have almost 5gallon tanks? Wonder if it's possible to swap out? would be over a gallon more than your 1300, I can't tell if they share frames but I doubt they do - still may be similar tank mounts though. magley64
I gotta think a cruiser tank swap would be a weekend job at most, even if they were from completely different cruisers. The most I imagine you'd have to do is fab up some custom mounting bracket.

Coyote
Have you looked into auxiliary tanks? Not sure of modern options/compatibility, though. A local shop for old Beemer parts had some metal aux. tanks last time I was there. A cursory glance at the interweb popped up some mx types, but they were plastic...
