oldschoolsdime92
I have the yamaha gyt-r slip on on the fz, and for being an o.e part, it really sounds bad imo. It puts me in the mindset of an old kz with a mac header and muffler.I want something just over stock. Any suggestions?
Sniper_308
I'd look at HMF.
Helmutt
What about repacking it? Might shut her up enough.I had a Yosh on my Yamaha, and it was very friendly on the ears
YSR_Racer_99
Stock are quiet because they're so restrictive. Anything aftermarket is gonna make more noise, and likely to be straight-through. Your stock silencer internals probably have walls and twists in there. Most bike forums have a "modified the stock silencer" threads for that model. Maybe as simple as drilling out the pea shooter. Dig around a little.
magley64
I like my akra pipe, it's not too loud when cruising, but she makes some noise when I open it up...
bacchus
A buddy had one of these on his first genhttp://www.mivv.it/risorse/8/206/370/Y023L2Sa.jpghe never took the baffle out and it was pretty quiet...nice little snarl when he got on it, though...and it was a beautiful pipe, too. oldschoolsdime92
The gytr pipe is nasty at idle, and just doesn't have a clean tone. I want something with a nice deep tone. I loved my Leo vince , but it was high mount, and I've had 0 luck finding a standard mount.
wantahertzdonut
It's a completely different bike, but my Yoshi pipe on my track SV is much, much quieter than my street SV that has an M4. The M4 is borderline too loud for me where the Yoshi has a very pleasant tone without being noisy, even at full throttle at the track. There's days I consider switching since I prefer not to be associated with the screaming exhausts of two particular individuals who also live in my neighborhood and like going WOT from each stop sign.
