Tigerpaw
Would you buy a new/0 mile 2007 carb'd bike from a dealer? To me, it seems like a little too long sitting unrun.seals, tires, battery, fluids, carbs all have me concerned. I am still investigating and don't know how it was stored all these years or if it was ever started.
ridein
If it's stored inside and the price is right. Is it going to have a warrenty??.....Its just like parts sitting on shelf........I would say give me a great deal....It sound like they need to sell.......... Tigerpaw
Sorry for the confusion. At a new bike dealership. I'm pretty sure it was stored inside since day 1. I just don't know how assembled it was i.e. oil, battery, fuel, air in tires.I think it will come with manafacturer's original warranty. ridein
I would go look at it.Look inside the gas tank......look at the tires i would probaly replace the anyways.....Warranty is all you need.........
ridein
They do not put the battery in till you buy the bike....At least make sure they do..
max power
Check it out closely, ask for new tires and an oil change. Then negotiate a killer deal.

jester3681
Fuel would be my biggest concern, followed by tires. The tires are at least 6 years old, which is where most manufacturers recommend replacing. I'd ask for new tires, oil change, drain the tank and refill. Should be fine. Other rubber parts, gaskets, etc. I wouldn't see a need to worry about if it was inside.
shadyone
I believe Jester has the right idea.
imaposer
What kind of deal are you talking? I started looking in to this for a leftover KTM earlier this year. Then, I actually talked to the dealer and they seemed to not be aware that a five year old new bike wasn't worth $500 less than a new 2012 cost. dugan n rita
I know where there are 3 laverdas sittin on show room floor, and would not be scared to buy.If you want the bike go get it may be one of those things that if you dont you will be kickin your own butt in the future. redkow97
shit... a last generation 250? They ought to be paying you to take it... I honestly wouldn't pay more than $2k OTD.The thing is you can find a used one with low miles in near perfect condition for $1500 that will probably have brand new tires that AREN'T 3 years old...I was thinking you found an old ZZR600 or something. I always liked the look of those bikes, and they were quite reliable and comfortable. Competent at the track, and great for street use. cOoTeR
I doubt it has any fluids or battery in it. Both 0 mile bikes I bought were dry and one was a 2 year left over. They are eager to get rid of the left overs because eventually they need to start paying insurance on them and sometimes paying to have the bike. You should be able to get it pretty close to their cost.
Tigerpaw
Listed for $3,000. I seriously doubt there is any interest.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawasaki-Ninja-250-EX-EX250-2007-07-BRAND-NEW-OTD-Price-/230880778584?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid=111000&algo=REC.CURRENT&ao=1&asc=14&meid=3539625662786878633&pid=100015&prg=1006&rk=1&sd=230880778584&&forcev4exp=trueI wouldn't mind paying $2,000 as is. Not sure how that works with the Kawasaki warranty. Otherwise $2,500 with 2012 tires, 2012 battery, running properly.I'll see if they bite on Monday. JStump
I would say that would be a good price with the new items you want added. I sold an '07 250 with 2500 miles on it and 4 owners last year for $2100 so $2500 would be a good price for 0 miles with the extras IMO. And like redkow said, they should really be paying you to take it, that is a way out dated model and needs to be off their floor so definitely see how low you can get. Hell, I was offered a brand new mazdaspeed3 at a dealer in early 2011 for $18,000 because it was a 2010 model(still kicking myself for not buying it), thats 6K off retail for a 1 year old car! I imagine bikes are very similar. Edited November 18, 2012 by JStump

C-bus
Let them think about paying taxes on again. They'll negotiate.
