candybluzx6
Is there a time you have to run to be able to do the race school for motoseries? At nelson
LongDogRacing
nope. (but, to be on the safe side, i'd expect you to at least be able to do a 1:50)
SJC1000rr
No. You first need to show the ability to run lines properly and safely, know the flags and procedures. Obviously, you can't be dangeriously slowly or you will get flagged off the course.
RHill
any other concerns or requirements before doing the race school?Think I'll be doing it the first or second track day
candybluzx6
I run a 1:46 to 1:45 at mid o. Which i know is not fast but want to scratch that competitive itch lol
ducati guy
Correct me if im wrong but i thought you had to run a min of a 1:30At least that's what i remembered
J_Copeland
Correct me if im wrong but i thought you had to run a min of a 1:30At least that's what i rememberedAt NL's I was told consistent 1:30's are required.
tyler524
I was also under the impression that 1:30s was the cut off, at least for the 600 superbike. Even at that pace you are no where close to even the slow guys that are racing

blue03636
1:30 is needed to pass the school. I don't know that they have a requirement to sign up.
gixxie750
That's cool If they do have a cut off. I Like that idea. I'd say 1:45 at mid-o would be fine to go race Novice.
blue03636
1:30 at nelsons isn't tough for anyone that runs upper I group at most tracks.

candybluzx6
Do u guys think i should do a track day there first or just do the school (only ran at mid o)
TSB67
If you can run 1:46 at Midohio you should have no problem running 1:20 at Nelson by the end of the day. This is about what I did and the bumps at Nelson really bother me. Edited November 26, 2012 by brn6604 changed "do" to "did"
madcat6183
Do u guys think i should do a track day there first or just do the school (only ran at mid o)Honestly, if you've never run NL, I'd highly recommend a track day before race school, especially if Mid O is the only place you've run. It's uhhhhh night and day I guess is a nice way to put it lol.But yeah I mean if you've never been there I'd atleast run a Friday twilight before race school there. The other option is to let us all gang bang your ass in Craig's trailer, that's the other option.

redkow97
Todd isn't going to turn down your money unless you're obscenely slow. When I did the WERA race school, 3 of us lapped one of the other race school students in our 4 lap mock race. He was on a 600rr and one of the guys who lapped him was on an s 650. Think about that. We were probably 30'seconds a lap quicker, and we were doing "just don't crash" pace...That guy is a licensed racer. Raced the following day. blue03636
I have seen him turn people down to race if they are too slow. I'm sure there is some wiggle room but I watched him turn one away for running off pace. He didn't want the racers to deal with the safety issue. madcat6183
You'll like the trailer, trust me, just bring lots of "chain"lube HAHAHAHAHAHA WINNING
TRMN8TR
^^ Breaking in the new guys right off the bat, nice. But like others said, I think if you are running ~1:46 at mid-o you shouldn't have a problem cutting laps under 1:30 at Nelson. It's not a very technical track, lots of sweepers. r1crusher
I typically only run low :50's at Mid-O with an occasional :49 thrown in there and I can run :24's at Nelsons at an easy pace. He would absolutely not have any issues getting under the :30 mark.
J_Copeland
I'm as slow as dirt and I run 1:27's at NL.
