Registration is open for this year's Pelotonia.

Last year I completed the 50-mile ride. This year I'm aiming for the 100-miler.

Carie (CbrGirl) registered for this year's ride also. She's targeting the 50-mile ride.

Who else is planning on riding this year?

No familiar with Pelotonia, check out their about page: www.pelotonia.org/about/. It's a fantastic organization, where all money raised by folks like you and I goes straight to cancer research here in Ohio at the James Cancer Hospital.

Riding the 180 again this year, hope to chat with some more of our fantastic moto escorts along the way again! Casper if you or your wife would ever like some company on training rides let me know, I rode a couple times with shittygsxr on here and the SNOW (students networking on wheels) group, had a good time. Always helps to have some friends riding alongside.

I think I'm helping with the motorcycle escort. My lack of funds (and somewhat non-functional bicycle) is putting me in the volunteer category. Still happy to help though.

Same here, the only thing my fat ass will be riding has a motor underneath.:wtf:

Pelotonia is very important to me. I am taking a break this year however due to the diagnosis of my father with cancer as well as expecting my first child in August. It has been a crazy emotional roller coaster of a year.

Thankfully his doctors expect a very good outcome. However this is not the case for to many people.

Last year I did 100 miles. It was actually my very first century ride ever. Sweat, tears, and for me blood made that day one of my proudest accomplishments yet.

If anyone is on the fence about it stop thinking right now and sign up. Its surreal to see bikes as far as you can see up and down a street. People are cheering you on the entire time. There are plenty of full service stops with food and mechanics just in case. This is one of the best supported bike rides in the US. This was one of the greatest days of my life.

I would love to ride and help marshal on my SV if anyone can point me where to go to enquire about that. I will most definitely do that or volunteer. Next year I WILL RIDE at least 100 miles.

I also would like to be a part of the Motorcycle escort.  Was a part of it last year and look forward to helping out again.  RA0029 is my volunteer number.  Let me know and keep me posted.  Moving my vacation around to be able to do this.  I can help both days.

Thanks to you who were on the motorized two wheelers looking out for us peddling our ass off! Was a great ride!

It was fun - not too hot, no rain. But I'm sore as shit today. Not as much as the peddlers, but close.

The ride home after Pelotonia was not fun.

I'm sore too! lol.  Something about riding 15 mph made my whole left side hurt like crazy.  I still don't have all of the feeling back in my pinky finger either.

It was a lot of fun though - glad to help out :)

The second day, I kept feeling like a mama duck because I would be riding past people at ~25 mph, and they would get behind me and draft off of me.

From doing moto escort 2 years ago, I can tell you that the engine idle speed on a 03 600RR is approximately 8MPH. :)

Good on you and the rest of the volunteers and riders.  Given travel schedules, I hope to be there next year.
