  2. Hello all. My name is Erik. I'm a Virgo, I enjoy breezy walks, french fries, flowers, and sappy movies. What ever.... I was on here years ago, but I forgot my name. So I get to start over I guess. For the moment nothing I own is fast. Then again All I own are VW's. How fast could they be?????? Married with Debt up to my arse, and three rockin' kids. First up is my DD. I just picked it up. 89 Jetta GLI Helios. Little beat, and lots of amateur at best mods half done on it. Nothing that can't be fixed easily. For now it's running the stock 1.8 16V, Aftermarket exhaust, slammed on coil-overs. Perfect DD.... Amazingly 40 MPG so I'm not gonna complain too much. It's one of 1500, and I've always lusted for one, and now I have it. Or as my wife says: Now you're stuck with it... http://i523.photobucket.com/albums/w351/Pats16Valve/Wolfgang/109.jpg Next up is my project car. 85 Scirocco. I bought it last summer as a toy from Colorado. Zero, and I mean Zero rust on it. Bad paint and haggard dash. I highly recommend buying cars from out west if you can stand it. This is the first winter in the salt. And it will be its last. Plans are for fresh paint and interior this spring, and next year a Turbo'd 2L 16V. Not sure what kind of suspension I want to go with. If I do any sort of racing with it, it'll be Auto-X. I really don't want to spend a whole lot of time messing with the chassis. The K.I.S.S. principle is going to be vital here. This is really meant to be a budget project, Run decently, and look nice. But who knows. I refuse to go the played out Euro bumper and lighting, stretched tires, and Iron Cross', or checkerboard roofs or hoods. I thought that was cool for about ten minutes. http://i523.photobucket.com/albums/w351/Pats16Valve/Hasselhoff/055.jpg Then there is clearly the nicest car of the group. My wife's 69 beetle. 99% done. I'm trying to bring myself to finishing the motor. Maybe she'll leave me alone if I finish it..... Really it's a great car, just finding the time and dollars to do it right is tough. In the end, I want it to be better than original. http://i523.photobucket.com/albums/w351/Pats16Valve/Alrich/003.jpg I've also got a 97 Golf Trek complete with the rack and keys, and a sled of a 04 Dodge Durango, and a 87 GMC short bed I lovingly call Hector.

  3. Sorry guys I just realized I missed a few things. Been busy working extra hours at work trying to get my 3rd Gen Eclipse back on the Road. Long story short you get what you pay for. Had a guy install my clutch , passenger side axle and motor mounts for $300.00 and now my tranny is f'd up. So I'm taking it to Nate at performance theory soon as I can raise up $1,380. But any how my name is Jevon AKA Kai I'm 24. My Eclipse is louder than it is fast at the moment. I just got done swapping my friend radiators. Some how 6months ago when I ordered 1 for a manual I was sent one for a automatic. I do have big dreams to upgrade the go fast parts as well as maybe down the road finish out the bodykit. Any comments on how I should go about building this car up, I need any help in the right direction I can get. I dont want to sell or trade it. I kind of gotten use to driving this rice bowl of a snail

  4. I think my buddy paid $5k for his with 110k miles. Those parts don't make it worth $4500 more. Given condition and parts, maybe its worth $6k-$6.5, personally I'd let that truck go. You don't offer people $4000 of their asking price even if the price is ridiculous.

I joined CR to find more some what local events (Im from Cleveland/Willoughby area). 6. Yes I will when I get up. honestly all those pics are old. Still looks the same only difference is I put the front lip back on. I have to do the radiator tommarrow so I will take the digital cam and a piece of paper with the date and post up all new pics tommarow. If any one was in polaris last year I was at a few meets up there. I use to ride along with 2 preludes , Integra, and a bmw.

  7. You guys are right. Talking with another member in a non oven like tone he basicly stated that I joined a racing forum with out any racing parts. So as Alex says am disapointment. I put my head on the CR chopping block and basicly can promise you guys that my car will be fast enough soon. Not 8 sec in the quarter mile but a nice well rounded car (new motor, rims, down the road s/c or turbo and suspension ). The canards WONT be going on my new bumper. After my bumper is on and painted shortly after I do plan on painting my hood leaving the vent centers black. I really did join just for "cars and coffee" edited and other cbus events
