If your dad really said that, please have him read this: I am 56 years old & "leader of the pack" in my family. My daughters & sons-in-law all ride & we had a family cross country trip planned for this year, to follow in the tracks of my own fathers cross country trip that he made on his HD Knucklehead in 1941. In prep for the trip, I signed us all up for the "Total Control" class offered up near Cleveland ( we live in Southeast Ohio). The class was over about 5:30 pm which meant we would be getting home about 10:00pm. We NEVER ride after dark around here because of the heavy deer presence. Anyway, we were 15 minutes from home and the next thing I remember is waking up in an ambulance asking the medics "what's going on guys?". It turns out that a deer jumped down onto the entrance ramp from the highway above, and landed ON TOP of me, knocking me off my bike. I ended up with both bones broken in my left shoulder, 6 broken ribs, a lacerated spleen, a totalled 9 month old bike and a $13,000 helicopter ride! I also missed one months work (self employed = NO sick time = NO income for a month. I was fully geared & I had not so much as a scratch on me from the get-off, all my injuries were from the impact of the deer landing on me. I had NO INTEREST in motorcycles for about 3 weeks. Another month later I was riding my new one home. Morals of the story: 1- Shit happens NO MATTER HOW SAFE YOU ARE. 2- ATGATT 3-If you really love riding, you'll be back. Just don't let your 20 something judgement & enthusiasm kill you!

We were just cruising around not going fast or revving or any other squid like behavior. O shit I really don't want to be a part of this now. I feel like I'm going to be guilty by association for being there. Can you tell your buddy that I do not wish any harm to him and that I felt he was being professional. Last thing I need is campus pd giving me hell cause I'm associate with someone who wishes them harm. I do not agree at all with the comment but I can tell you that it's not a threat.

You guys scared the OP away. I agree with what you guys are saying about the officer doing his job but some LEO's go out of their way to be a d bag. I'm a firm believer that 80% of LEO's are good guys but there are about 20% who were losers in HS and want to take it out on everyone else because they have a gun and a badge. With the facts that I know its absurd the guy got pulled over for going 5mph with his visor up. I ride with my visor up at that speed and I go 7 mph over daily. Things like that are petty and are not harming anyone else. Disclaimer: the OP seems to have a "I'm a badass on a gsxr attitude," so I'm all for him getting a ticket but to blindly defend the officer is just as crazy as flaming the OP.

Every officer that's pulled me over has been polite and just doing his job whether it was a deserving ticket or warning - give respect to get respect. To wish ill on some one for disrupting your day with regards to your safety is the furthest from mature posts I've seen on this board.

You're God damn right we break the law on a daily basis...the difference is I don't complain about it when I get caught, and I sure as hell don't wish death upon the officer. OP, feel free to leave the forum, and take your brother exarch with you. Douceclown...

I have been on this site for ever, and only recently got back to owning a bike. It's not a bad thing to keep in touch with this group of people(regardless of our dysfunctional nature).

I hate to get involved with these political threads, but this one bothers me enough that I'm willing to make a few statements even in the face of presumed imminent disappointment in humanity.... First of all, let me state the précis of this whole thing, just so I don't get a TL;DR excuse - This is a civil rights issue and should be treated as such. To think this is a religious issue is laughable, and I am simply at a loss of hope for those who cannot see past this. To vote in any way on a civil rights issue because of a religious view ignores the concept of separation of church and state, and damn sure imports your religious views into my civil liberties. This is wrong. This is a civil rights issue because it is about people, who are all equal in this country, last time I checked. If race is not a discriminating factor, then neither is sexuality. The fact that people still think sexual orientation is a choice are simply ignorant to a point of no return. If you refuse to check out this new thing called science, then just assume the sun goes around the earth, and that schizophrenia is just the devil playing around inside you. I refuse to get into a debate about this because it's 2012, and at this point it's like someone trying to ask you to prove that hair color is genetic.
