  1. Hi all- I have been here a bit over 2 yrs, but have not met too many car people in the scene. I am sure there are a few NSX owners around here besides me. This is my 93: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8126/8640660703_de8f52631f_b.jpg NSX w/ AVS Model 5 by Gabedm1, on Flickr I have a lot to do with it, pile of parts to put on it, or might just sell it, who knows. Anyways, hope there is a good scene around here cause Cbus seems kinda boring in that regard. haha

  2. welp here it is, kind of sucks because i couldnt catch up to a fast group so all the videos are of slower groups, which is ok because we all remained safe, but my throttle hand was getting constantly itchy for more. EDIT:: someone change that so its the video and not a link.. i cant get the damn thing working...

  3. I think that there has been some great advice, opinions, and personal examples given. Mental illness is such a broad spectrum, and is hard to exactly define what is what anymore. Depression is for sure real and can rip your world apart, everyone has a different chemical makeup, everyone reacts and or is affected differently, and everyone's brain is unique and not one is the same.

  4. I've posted this build on a couple other forums but for some reason haven't posted here..until now. I bought this bike back in September. It's an '89 Gsxr750 that was sitting since around '93-94. The odometer shows just a hair over 9400 miles although when the original owner raced it he disconnected the speedo cable so actual miles are slightly higher. I am now the 2nd owner, as far as I know. The previous owner included a box of goodies that include the passenger seat, original header, a bunch of other stock parts, as well as a spare rear rim and a FOX racing shock. The bike had all fiberglass race body work and a Storz steering damper. It's also fully safety wired. I think I did well for $700. I have since sold off the front race fairings for $300 and a few other parts here and there so to put some $$ back into my pocket. I spent a couple hours hanging a few parts back on it as well as installing a battery and hooking up disconnected wires. I used an IV bottle to fill the carbs and proceeded to crank it over. Within 10-15 seconds, the bike started!! I have to give the PO credit as he drained the tank, the carbs, placed oil in the cylinders, and put fresh oil in the crankcase when he stored it. I was worried about the engine making noises since he low-sided it and could have starved it of oil. But the bike must have shut off before any damage was done as it's super quiet. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v39/Streetfighterkz/Gsxr750/?action=view&current=P9230010_zps3e4b348f.mp4 I've also found my inspiration for the build in an issue of Streetfighter Mag. I don't want to build the bike exactly the same but I LOVE the overall style of it. I started to think about the overall design of the bike. I obviously don't want to copy the Twisted Synergy bike but want to reuse some of the basic design ques. There may be a few tweaks but below is what I'm shooting for. It has a custom tail made using a Kz750 Twin tail as a base, trimmed down Zrx fairing and an Airtech race belly pan with a DanMoto GP exhaust. I went through 15 or so revisions before I got the paint scheme to look just right. Back in Decenber, I went on a holiday shopping spree. I shouldn't have spent the money but too late now. I opened the boxes quicker than my actual Christmas presents. Shown is a '92 Gsxr750 front end, a '94 Gsxr750 swingarm and caliper bracket, and a Zrx1100 headlight. Not shown is the '92 Gsxr600 5.5" rear rim, '01 Gsxr600 gauge cluster and a Zrx1100 fairing and windscreen which had not arrived when the pic was taken. I did play around with the headlight and the frontend to see how close I can tuck in the light to the fork legs. I didn't realize how big the Zrx light was from the front. Continued below... Later, Doug

  5. May 29th at 9p. Can't wait! Oh and Magley, I know you won't believe this, but this is about people shooting guns for fun and recreation. Oh the humanity! http://www.history.com/shows/top-shot

  6. Well, after nearly 9 years in Ohio it looks like I will be moving back to my home state of Tennessee. I found a great opportunity at our corporate office in Nashville and signed the paperwork today. I don't have any firm idea about timing, but it will probably be a gradual transition ending with me being down there full time by the end of the summer. I'm looking forward to being closer to some family, and being <200 miles from the start of the Cherohala and other great roads in the mountains. Years ago, I never thought I would say this, but I'm really going to miss the riding in Ohio. Mostly because so many of you are such great people and I've genuinely enjoyed meeting everyone and having had the chance to go on so many fantastic group rides over the years. I've also come to know and enjoy many of the SE Ohio roads and will greatly miss that familiarity. It's going to be a hectic summer, but hopefully I'll be able to work in a few more group rides before I make the move. OR is a great community and has really helped me evolve as a motorcyclist, both in understanding what I want out of my hobby, and of the kinds of people that I want to find and surround myself with, and you all have my genuine thanks for that. I plan on trying to stay as active as possible on the forum, and hope to be able to still get involved in rides down towards TN (especially Gap trips). If any of you find yourselves in the Nashville area and want to catch up or grab a drink, just shoot me a PM. I'll always consider myself part of the OR family no matter where I live. 7. Hey yall I am Stuart and i ride a 07 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide, which tends to make me the minority around here. Been ridding for a couple years now and prefer cruisers over anything. I'm a Marine Corp Vet which in turn makes me kinda of a gun enthusiast and i don't believe in any restrictions on them!

  9. Yep but it took like 5 double red stag and coke, 3 snake bites, 7 shots of 151, 3 grape bombs, and an irish car bomb.... And that's just what I remember before blacking out lol.... My friends suck! Haha

  11. I hate to say it, but I agree with magz. I too know someone very close to me, that has suffered from uncontrollable emotional outbreaks, their entire life. It could be anything from severe anger, to uncontrollable crying, to the happiest person in the world. It can take anything from the smallest to a major thing to set this person off, and medication is what keeps it to a tolerable level. A hundred years ago or more, and this person would have been locked up in a nut house.

  12. I will do you two cyl better and you can keep $2000. Wife wants it out of driveway and needs rear brake lines. I will even give your a $150 discount on top of that. Has new clutch. New crank position sensor. It is rusty and nasty, but you can trade her on the weekend and get your yourself filthy on the 4wheelers and not even care. Boys wont hit on her because this thing is ugly. As a saftey feature she can only put one other person in it. Will keep the jibbing down to a minimum. Another safety feature is she will probably be scared to crash it for fear she wouldn't survive. Thus making her a better driver. If you want it to be 4 wheel drive? A guy here at work has all the parts to convert it over. It can be done in a day! (I call bullshit! But you never know what a hill billy can do.)

  15. Has he got ANY experience with guns or is this just one of those "I wanna be cool and carry too" scenarios? If you don't have any luck convincing him to stay away from guns, then the other positive influence you could have on him would be to take him shooting and teach him some gun safety. Maybe even take a course or two with him. Reinforce proper handling, respect for the weapon, safe practices, etc. Then if he has a raging fit, he will hopefully remember all the good things you did for him and wont shoot you in the face.

  18. Here's mine. Didn't spend all that much time editing since I didn't have much action. I was in the medium group and we had several times where we had to slow down due to traffic and other things that happened. Sorry for the Contour angle...I had just gotten the camera and was scrambling to put it on somewhere other than my helmet since I don't like that angle. The Yammy just doesn't have any smooth or even places to put a mount so I had to throw it under the strap on the second seat. It looked okay on my phone when I sat down, but obviously not in the video, lol. http://youtu.be/YgA4rk39WlQ

  19. I have owned many brands. I have two pairs now...sliders and drayko. The drayko are the only ce rated jeans. Sliders have annoying Velcro in the knees where the useless armor goes and they are very hot. In fact, they are my cold weather pants, and I use them up to about the 75 degrees. The removeable armor is a waste of time and will never stay in place in a get off. Draykos have dyneema/kevlar in them and are MUCH more breathable. Both have a lot of Kevlar coverage. The Sliders are a loose fit, but the draykos are a little stretchy. Not spandex 80s rocker stretchy Regarding knee armor in riding jeans...I wouldnt waste your time with it. I guess it is better than nothing, but there is no way in hell it will be reliable protection since it moves way too easily. Knee armor directly attached to your leg is the only way to go IMO. Check out Motoports kevlar riding pants. Expensive but impressive protection and custom made. Even their 1000 denier cordura is uncoated(wont melt to your skin) and breathable and are custom made for $199. The 1000 denier cordura has the same abrasion resistance as leather.
