  1. Ok My thoughts were mixed together. I agree with everything that has been said. I wanted to add the comment about my friends bike getting stolen right in front of him by letting the guy test drive the bike after the other guy he came with left. The guy test driving the bike didnt give any money before and my friend selling the bike didnt ask for any money before the test drive. He deals cars and has never had this happen before. The bike he was selling personally and he should have made the guy pay for the bike before test driving or at least hand his ID over first. I just wanted to illistrate what could happen if ixl247 lets someone test drive the bike without putting anything in writing or having the guy pay for the bike first before the ride.
  2. +1 and dont sign the title untill they return the bike un-harmed. I had a friend who got his bike stolen this way. 2 guys came to look at it in a van, the one guy left in the van saying he was getting food or gas or something. The other guy "test rode" the bike and never came back. Easiest way to steal a bike...like taking candy from a baby. I would take their id while they ride too just in case they dont come back, you have their info.
  3. Nick does know the best roads around that is for sure
  4. Shit (on my car) Gues I got beat to the post... OK how about crows
  5. Make your own set of wires out of bulk plug wire. you can get that thru Jegs or Summit, Maybe even Auto Zone. As for plugs, I reccomend either Denso or NGK
  6. Im torn here...I think people should have the choice to wear or not wear a helmet. There is a rush with the feeling of the wind blowing thru your hair on the open road. But on the other hand, I would not be opposed to a helmet law either, in fact, I am actually suprised Ohio hasn't created any helmet laws yet. My first few years of riding, I didnt wear my helmet a lot but I have grown up and realized it is dumb to not wear a helmet. I wear my helmet, jacket, and gloves everywhere I go now because you never know what is going to happen and when you will need the protection. I don't think a helmet law would decrease insurance rates at all...The insurance companies would probably claim they are giving you a discount for helmets when really thet arent since they just marked the rates up so they can discount them back down. In summary, I still believe people have the right to choose, but they also have the right to chose to ride a bike and I think that desicion to ride should come with the obligation to wear a helmet. Respect the road, the bike, fellow riders, and yourself. I would support a helmet law. Plus, a helmet keeps bugs out of your hair and face and your eyes dont water, and you dont get smacked in the throat by huge bugs or rocks either. See, wearing a helmet has its advantages.
  7. Hey 12, Just wanted to officially welcome you in this thread. We should meet up and ride sometime. I might go out for a bit tonight if Im not putting together my girl's bike.
  8. I will give you credit Dustin, that was good. Yeah I did leave the door wide open for you...Im only one up if you count OR group rides I guess. I want to put some of the plastics back on the 250 tonight unless you or anyone else wants to ride. Still need to break the new tires in some more and narrow the chicken strips. How was the ride last night? where did you ride?
  9. Dustin u are killin me. Im pretty sure I have ridden more than you this year.
  10. Hey 12oclocker, We should meet up and ride sometime. I live in Milton now, but am moving to Troy in a few weeks. The Dayton guys are a blast to ride with if you havent risdden with them already. I dont stunt but I am always up for trying new things. I cant even think where you would have a place to stunt anywhere around Troy besides the road.
  11. I honestly thought about doing that.... But then I have no way to gauge how low i am getting the bike
  12. Thanks guys. I was thinking about 100 miles but wasnt for sure. I have to get used to my tires all over again. the new ones turn in so much quicker than my old ones. it didnt help that my old tire was squared off with about a 3 inch flat area all the way thru the center
  13. I just got new tires for my bike and its been so long since I had new tires, I forget the proper way to break in, or scrub up new tires before you can really push them hard. I thought there was a certain number of miles that the tires had to have and so many heat cycles the tires needed to have. Any input would be great.
