  1. Check this one: http://www.karateheart.com/ I've been going there for a year now. I looked at most of the Karate schools in Columbus before I joined them.
  2. Wondering if there is anyone out there that paints out of their garage. Would be cheap for me a way for someone to make a quick buck. If I am using the same color to paint, I don't need to sand all the way to the metal right? What are your thoughts on those sprays you can use to strip paint off?
  3. I need to get my 96 Honda Accord painted but want to spend as little as I possibly can. I will sand and scrape and do all the prep myself. Just need someone to spray it. Doesn't even have to be a great job or expensive paint - a couple of coats of plain black or the current green will do just fine. I know AttackPainter on the forum does some paintwork but I am not sure if this hack paint job of mine will insult his artistic talents. I'd even paint it myself with some guidance and directions if I have to but I don't have any place to actually spray the car. Any ideas?
  4. Is this the place: 1045 Hill Rd N, Pickerington, OH‎ ?? I will try to make it there at 9am as well. (And I will be on time this time ).
  5. Tommin, SJC1000rr - you still meeting tomorrow or is that called off? I'm on for Sunday as well. Let me know.
  6. I have some work in the morning but I should be able to make it there by 10. Whats the address of the Fast Max in case I miss you guys at Walmart?
  7. I will be up for heading out on Saturday morning as well. Will you guys be coming back on Saturday evening or Sunday evening?
  8. Anyone from Columbus going for this?
  9. Anyone in Columbus meeting up to go for this one?
  10. Not taking any sides - I've been on OR for less than a year and only 4 OR rides so not experienced enough or knowledgeable enough. I've been on one ride with Gixxie - there were tons of OR folks as well as junkies. Like someone mentioned before - I thought he was a really nice guy. Two of us from OR had a fall that day and all the junkies came quite a ways back to help us out. The bit about the junkies having a bad reputation and noobs like me following them and getting bad habits - well I didn't ride outside my limits that day and neither did the other guys. The junkies actually got into a bit of trouble that day but that's their choice. It's also the choice of whoever chooses to follow them - to each his own right? We can always learn the good stuff and choose not to do the "other" stuff. Like everyone said - there might be legal issues with an "official" school but I'd love to get tips from anyone willing to give them. Nothing wrong with learning. Kudos on the enthusiasm to help people. I think the criticism has been a tad harsh - seems like a lot of history here .I know that does not replace track training, and I do plan on taking those as well - but cant hurt to get tips on the street rides.
  11. The FieldSheer Radar suit at Iron Pony costs about 250$ less than the AlpineStars Octane Suit. The Fieldsheer looks pretty decent and so does 250$. Just thought I'd check if anyone has tried it.
  12. Didn't want to start a new thread to ask this: Which is the best turn to get a seat in? I was looking at the Indy site and there is Corners 1, 7, 14-16, 2-4 and Frontstretch Infield and Outfield. Any suggestions?
  13. I was seeing this video on cleaning bikes: The biggest problem I have is that I live in an apt so I can't really hose the bike down after lathering. I was thinking of using Plexus Plastic Cleaner Spray all over. Does anyone do that? Any tips from other apt dwellers on how they clean their bikes? (Not trying to hijack the thread, just seemed related) Oh...and that is a nice yellow - good job with the cleaning .
  14. I remember hearing (in Kansas) that a lot of local school run evening/weekend courses in Motorcycle Repair. Has anyone heard of any courses in Columbus? The only other way to learn would be on my own motorcycle but it would take years and some bad mishaps before I look at any actual internals. A lot of people on this forum really do know a lot about motorcycles and, if it's possible, I would love to come watch and learn when someone is working on their motorcycle. Beer in return for lessons ?
  15. I just got a couple of copies today at Carl Zipf. Took about 36 seconds .
  16. Are you riding to the track the same morning or the night before?
  17. I got Olympia gloves a couple of days back...the leather is really nice. I found it more comfortable than the SP2.
  18. Motorsports of Columbus had told me about this Brake oil thing. I don't trust those guys at all now...they kept my bike for 3 days and returned it to me with the chain too tight....it has 0 play ! I'm going to take it back to them tomorrow.
  19. Count me in for "HNW" at 8:30am as well.
  20. What time at Hill Rd/Dilley Rd exit off 33 in Pickerington?
  21. I do have a light smoke that I leave on at night sometimes, but if you do get into a spot where there are no street lights I have to pull up the Visor. I would wear sunglasses but my prescription glasses are uncomfortable enough as it is . That photochromatic visor costs almost as much as my helmet . I don't understand how a mirrored visor would help - it still has a tint right? Anyway, thanks for all the opinions. It looks like the conclusion is to simply not be so cheap and buy the expensive helmet with the built-in shield
  22. I'd like to come along too. Where are the Columbus folks meeting?
  23. I've actually done that but I'm noticing that if I keep replacing the Visor, the locks that hold it in place become a little loose. I'd hate to have the visor fly of on the freeway .
  24. I have a Scorpion Helmet and it amazes me that all helmet manufacturers don't put the Visor shields like the Nolan or HJC helmets. I should have just not been so cheap when I bought the Scorpion Helmet . It would be a pain to carry the clear shield with me if I'm going to be out the whole day or if I'm going out in the evening. Has anyone tried this and is it any good? http://store.danase.com/tintshield.html. How about this: http://www.polar-optics.com/
