They don't make all their money from charging you more at the pump. A majority of their profit comes from the sell of crude to other companies/countries. With the price of crude being as high as it is in the market right now these companies are just raking in the profits. If you want to blame someone, blame China. The demand from their economic expansion (thanks Walmart) is causing the price of everything to go up (construction materials, fuel, lumber..etc). Ask Sam how much concrete has gone up in price in the past few years. Our love for inefficient trucks and SUV's certainly doesn't help the situation either.

All due respect, but I don't think your argument about him modding/working on the car really holds any weight. Why does it matter? He's not going around claiming that he built the damn car. The company is notorious for not listening to the word NO. The funny thing is they would get my wife who would tell them No, then they would call me the next day and say "we talked to your wife and have you signed up for X service, when would be a good time to come out?". In my past experience I had a sheriff (the first one i've ever met that wasn't cool as F, he was the biggest prick Evar!) who showed up to court but had a dentist appt the same day. You better believe they made my ass wait until he was done. They gave him like 2 hours or so to return. After he didn't make it back I thought I was scott free. Nope. His written report was enough and they sent another sheriff to be there on his behalf. I can't tell you for sure how reliable the whole argument is about the cop not being there will get you out of the ticket, in my experience it didn't seem to matter.

I actually popped a guy in the eye once. He took his mask off for whatever reason and I didn't see him. It split the outer lense of his eye right down the middle. He recovered ok with no eye damage but it sucked none the less.
