  1. ...I know there's a rep system here. I see the green dots and I know that's what they are for but.. I never think about them. Never hardly even look at them. I don't come on here with any thought or care about my reputation and I'd be surprised if I had one good or bad anyway. I think I'm more of a floater since I don't ride with many of you all the time, let alone once in a while.
  2. wow this got lots of responses before I found time to get back to it. Till now I had never even heard of Krav Maga. There's lots of others here mentioned I'd like to look into. I did mention martial arts as a form of motivation to get in shape and stay in shape but it's not something I would intend to get me there. Just something I want to persue for several different reasons. I merely suspect that it would be helpfull to keep me from slacking off in the fitness department. I want to learn defensive as well as offensive disciplines but I also really want to get some weapons training. I want to learn boa staff [i have two but they've never been used] and I'd like to learn some sword arts, maybe katana. I'm not sure what you call it when you use two swords but I'd like to learn this kind of stuff. I am interested in these things for more than just the benefits of self defense and physical flexibility/endurance. I am interested in the mental discipline and history of these arts as well. Some people have mentioned places from C-bus and dayton areas. I'm in cincy right now. Others have mentioned what they wanted to do is too expensive... anyone able to give an estimate of a monthly or yearly cost for some of these classes?
  3. happy rainy 4th ppl.... I doubt I'l be out in the rain watching any fireworks anywhere. blah. sucky holiday this year.
  4. heh... you should see me when I'm really mad then. I'm just tired in that pic. was on my way to church, had stopped at speedway for coffee.
  5. sorry have not gotten back sooner. I try to have motivation to get online after work and usually end up on the bed watching some tv. if only I had a laptop. Before work I rarely have time. I'm off today so now I have some time. Yeah I think I do want to sell it. a part of me doesn't want to but I know even when it fit me I still wasn't thrilled with it. I just think I hate the fact that I will just have to find a new coat soon. The only other riding jacket I have is really cheap mesh jonny rocket and it doesn't provide much protection the padding is pathetic in it. I'l PM you in a bit.
  6. I did.. from a distance. and that's without browsing the site, just that slideshow thinger on the link. edit.. ok I browsed and basically blew up this pic which was in the slideshow. There's at least two or three maybe more just gotta look closely. but they'r there. http://www.cincinnatiphotography.biz/index.php?do=photocart&viewImage=15951 I'd only go if I had someone to go with. I feel really out of place in things like that cause my gear and my bike are like.... second rate hand me downs or something. >.>
  7. that's cool, I'm off this Friday. what do you think?
  8. howdy! Nice to see 'nother lady rider.
  9. I was just wondering if anyone here is taking or has ever taken any form of martial arts classes? I've been thinking lately of looking into it but there's many different kinds. karate, taekwondo, tai chi, aikido, judo, kung fu, , ju jitsu, kickboxing, muay thai, etc.. list goes on. it would be a good way to keep me motivated to stay in shape, help me to be more flexible, and of course being a woman it could come in handy if I were ever in a situation where I'd need to defend myself. Besides, I could use a life changing [for the better] hobby. so..... discusss.
  10. I have a womans medium Scorpion black Dahlia jacket I am considering selling if anyone is interested.. Worn only a few times. It's a bit too tight for me and after wearing it a few times I'm just not sure it's really for me. Ebay and most other websites I've browsed are averaging around $199. I'm asking $100. Will consider a trade. here's one of many websites: http://www.gearuphelmets.com/scladablexow.html heres a pic with it on me. [i have more pics upon request. jacket is fully armored, and includes a liner]
  11. I would definately appreciate it, specially if you are someone knowledgeable in engine work of any kind. I've even kind of wondered if someone with some clutch/gear wisdom would care to test ride her. Sometimes I think it feels odd when shifting but it may just be me. *shrug* I work 5pm-1:30am. I'l PM ya.
  12. depends on the weather and where I'm riding. Since the bike does need work I try not to ride it very often. I don't have the best gear either so I don't plan on doing any KY routes this summer. I don't expect anyone to do any work on the bike. I just need some expert advice. Someone from my work has offered to do the work cheap for me but he lives at least an hour away. So I want to have the parts before I ride the bike up there so I can give him the parts at work and not have to transport them on the bike. And I'm not sure if I can afford everything at once so I'd really like to try and get everything I need before taking the bike up there... which means it will be several weeks before I can even have any work started.
  13. hey I took the course last july and had never been on a bike before. Just do the written test so you have your temps. The course is cake work, 3 days 4 hours each day, last two days are on the bike. And when they say basic course, they really mean a 3 year old could do it. I was comfortable enough to buy a bike right after the course and start riding on my own. Don't look at the whole thing as something to be intimidated by cause it's really not. Be encouraged and just go for it, look at it this way... you wont loose alot of time or money if you go through the course and change your mind or if you go through the course and fail it. It's only $25! I'd go for an actual bike and not a scooter for your first ride though I mean you should get used to shifting and I don't think you can do that on a scooter. welcome to the boards!
  14. I need to determine what parts I need to order for my bike to deal with some oil leaks... and also where the best deals will be for getting them, be it online or a local shop... So I was curious if there were any riders in the area who could help me by looking over my bike with me and telling me what they think I need and where I can get it. I live near the kenwood mall and can ride to you if you'd prefer. I would prefer this to be in person than over the forums with pictures and guesswork. thanks to anyone who can/is willing to help me!
  15. I don't have much luck with downloading things on this computer. torrents and the like just seem to mess things up on here more than help with finding what I'm looking for. Otherwise I'd try to do that.
  16. actually he probably really is possesed. that's messed up.

    P90x

hey what about the meal guide/nutrition plan? or is that on dvd also?
  18. I was wondering if anyone would mind posting their before and after pics? if you used to be out of shape since you started working out, or even if you were kind of fit but have become even more toned... (maybe this should even be a new thread over in the pictures board, i dunno....) I am curious about the P90x but also don't really wanna spend the money for it. But I like the idea of working out in the privacy of home. I'm self-concious and shy. Otherwise I'd go to the ymca or join some fitness club somewhere.
  19. uhm... I'm sure I'l get post flamed to hell and back for this but (....Ladies of OR hopefully I'm not the only one who pondered this...?) I was just wondering why it has to be pictures of a hot [or the hottest] girl next to your bike? I mean sounds like a great contest in general but... I'm just thinking if it's to contribute to the site and be for everyone why not keep it a little more generic? Make the focus more on everyone's bikes and not hot chicks next to bikes? Perhaps include something from the site such as your hot bikes with your OR stickers on them? To up the anti make it a unique or otherwise important location of the photo? Perhaps who can be the most creative in combining several elements into one picture? Your bike, OR stickers, shirts, and locations around ohio? That just seems more all inclusive to me as well as supportive of the site without being biased to genders or looks or anything like that... I do think this contest is a great idea and the calendar could be cool also. But I myself would have no interest in a calendar of just hot woman and bikes. I do have an interest in the calendar they just did which I even contributed to and I still haven't bought one...never got around to it.. shame on me. I wonder if I can still get one... >.> not that I'd win even if I was to enter, but... just on the improbable chance of someone like me winning... my bike needs lotta work I don't think a detail job would be that great right now. could I just take the cash equivelant instead? That would be a big help in the parts I need for the maintenance work I gotta get done lol
  20. dude this thread needs more pics! I am very entertained here.
