    Bike idea's

I just got a '09 Yamaha FZ6R a few days ago. I don't know much about it yet especially how it would be on a long trip. It's a 600, MSRP is $7,090. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelhome/619/0/home.aspx
  2. Check with someone from Pride of Cleveland Scooters, they may be able to tell you where you can rent a small cc scooter to take the test. I know there is a guy down here in Columbus that makes a living doing that but not sure about up your way. http://www.clevelandscooters.com
  3. Thanks BTW, that IS a cool little scoot. They are fun to ride.
  4. We still have at least one.... my wife (DiamoGirl)
  5. Hell yeah man, ditched the scoot for a real bike! We'll have to get together for a ride sometime!

  6. Where have you been man????????? Got rid of the scooter Monday night; am the proud owner of the one and only (for the moment) '09 Yamaha FZ6R in Columbus.
  7. I know where you can buy a used blue SilverWing Mine is sittin at HNW.
  8. Thanks. Its available in all black for $100 less then the blue. HNW has a yellow one coming in next but Austin (the sales rep/Rockstarhonda) is consideing getting it!
  9. No problem, you know you're the man! I didn't think the parking lot of the dealership would be the appropriate place to learn to ride it So for now, stay off the streets of Hilliard while I learn:p
  10. For those that don't know or weren't following the "2009 Yamaha" thread, I ditched the scooter and got a freakin nice ass bike yesterday. I have the one and only "2009 Yamaha FZ6R" in the area (for now), mine was the first one HNW sold. I got it last night, so stay off the streets of Hilliard for the next few days while I learn to ride! Here is a stock photo.... Here is an actual photo (crappy lowlight cellphone pic)...
  11. Thanks It was getting dark out already when I took that pic thats why it looks so crappy. I'll get some nice ones with my regular cam over the next couple days.
  12. I'm originally from Lorain and come to town occassionaly to visit family. I just got a new bike yesterday and may be bringin it up the last week of July (im on vacation) so might be interested in hooking up for a ride sometime around then. I got together with Kosmo, Madmax and a few others last summer around the same time for a ride around the Cleveland Metroparks.
  13. Now, I like the name , and OhioScooterRiders.com will live on. I'll always have a place in my heart for scoots, especially since my wife still has hers.
  14. I WAS riding it! I got it yall !!!! AND I learned to ride it in like five minutes. After about 10minutes of riding up and down the alleys in my neighborhood I said screw it and took it out around Hilliard ! Fucking love it! Better pics over the next few days but heres a crappy cellphone pic...
  15. Definetly. But I'm keepin the screename, kinda like it!
  16. Hey guys and gals, after a weekend of never ending badgering the wife about the Yamaha, looks like it paid off. I will be heading to HNW after work tomorrow (Monday 3/23) to buy this beautiful bike! Yeah baby! Now who wants to come over and show me how to ride the damn thing?? Seriously. No really. Gonna have Austin drop it off at my house since I only live a few miles from HNW. Besides, I know he want to ride the thing!
  17. Exactly! Up until I sat on that bike I thought I would never find a sb that fit me well and that I felt comfortable on. Maybe this time next year.
  18. Cool. I'm slowly but surely meeting most of the people here either at events or doing some riding. Don't let the scooter thing fool ya, it'll easily do over 100mph and holds it own quite well in the curves, it handles well, very low center of gravity.
  19. After sleeping on it and letting the "impulse buzz" wear down I've decided to wait on getting a different bike. I really like this Yamaha but with the economy the way it is it doesn't feel right to take on a negative equity loan at this time. So I'll keep the Swing at least another year, get another riding season under my belt and another year of payments on it and revisit this idea next year. I know keeping the Swing another year and continuing to ride it will negatively affect its tradein value but I will have also paid another $2,400 or more on the loan, so thats good.
  20. Well we just got back from HNW, I talked to the finance guy, showed him the KBB printout and my payoff amount, anddddddd its extremely doable!! I can basically tradein the swing (an '06) and get this 09 FZ6R for less than a $100/mo more than I'm payin now. All that I need to do is to convice the wife to let me do it , she's not happy about it. How do I convice her that this is no more dangerous than my scooter, which I normally ride @ a pretty good clip. I tried to explain to her that its safer cause people will actually hear me comin on the Yamaha, the scooter is really quiet. Help me out guys!!
