  1. Me too, try to ride every Sunday usually.
  2. The wife and I bowl, we've gotten together with a few members here before to bowl.
  3. Fuking people running red lights around here piss me off to no end! Can't tell you how many times I see it while working. RIP, sorry for your loss.
  4. My buddies comment when we stopped at a red light in Woodsfield pretty much summed it up, he said... "Who the fuck paved that road?" Yes, still a great day of riding though, 300+ miles, no rain, perfect temp. It was weird, all day it looked like it could rain at any given moment, yet all we got was about three drops as we passed thru Zanesville on 70. The only negative thing that happened was a run in with a group of about 4 sportbikes and one standard that came up behind us on 800 North of Woodsfield, we were currently following behind two pickup trucks at a average speed of about 50mph, the bikes made some very bad decisions in regards to the passing, very unsafe. The leader punched it and passed both of us and both trucks on a double yellow going into a left/right S-curve that was completely blind, he was completely left-of-center thru the left turn, he could have killed himself or some innocent person coming the other way. We scooted over to the right side of the lane and I waved the rest of the group up, they then passed the trucks as well, again in a very unsafe moment, the poor guy on the standard got stuck behind the trucks for the next 15minutes I was content behind the trucks cause the road was pretty much a solid double yellow all the way with very limited chances for a "safe" pass.
  5. Rode 800 today from the bottom @ SR-7 up to 70. The road conditions from 7 all the way up to Woodsfield were terrible! They attempted spot patching and did a shitty job. The road surface is rough and uneven all over the place. Once you get North of Woodsfield the road was perfect except for some gravel in a few corners.
  6. What We never hit 104 today anyway cause we ended up starting from Iron Pony and much later than planned so we didn't complete the entire route as planned. We took 270 to 33 to 180 to 56 then followed the route as outlined. We did the whole thing up to 541, by the time we got to 70/77 it was after 5pm and we decided to run the superslab back to Columbus. 56 was fun but most of the curves were wet so you couldn't take em very fast, I enjoyed 550 from Athens to Marietta, 7 along the river was alright, 800 was a great road however, from 7 at the bottom all the way up to Woodsfield the road conditions were terrible. They did spot patching all over the place, the road surface was uneven and rough everywhere. Once we got North of Woodsfield the road was pretty nice. We had a great day and ate lunch at BW3 in Athens. I logged 355miles from the pony til I got home.
  7. I know. My wife and I rode in the ADA ride for Diabetes back in June. And my mother is a breast cancer survivor. I understand your frustration.
  8. Well, you did say it before... people suck But seriously, I know, it really sucks when something like this happens.
  9. Not a motorcyclist, but a cyclist nonetheless. Terrible thing to happen during a charity event. Cyclist was stuck and later died, happened at the intersection of 374 & 180 in Hocking. http://www2.nbc4i.com/news/2010/aug/21/pelotonia-ride-marred-rider-death-ar-202517/
  10. Umpire chest protector...$70 @ Dicks.
  11. Do we really need to ask with as many people here that love him?
  12. So here is what I've decided on. Whether or not we stick to the route as planned will be decided once we see how the day is going. Route takes us thru Hocking, Wayne National and along the Ohio River for abit. START = 104 & Frank Rd 104 to 56 = 22mi 56 to Athens = 60mi 550 from Athens to Marietta = 45mi 7 from Marietta to 800 = 36mi 800 to 70 = 42mi 70W to 77N = 22mi 77N to 541 = 10mi 541 to Coshocton = 24mi 541 to Martinsburg/62 = 28mi 62 to Johnstown/37 = 20mi 37 to the Flying J = 15mi FINISH = Flying J @ 71 & 36/37 All miles rounded up, approximate total miles = 324
  13. 80 degrees and sunny. Whats wrong with that?
  14. You didn't miss much @ Hooters on the East side, it was dead. Less than a dozen bikes including ours, and most of them left as soon as it got dark
  15. I'm curious to check out 800, sounds inviting. Got to sit down and figure out the mileage, this may be to far but this is my thoughts so far... 104 down to Circleville 56 to Athens 550 from Athens to Marietta 7 from Marietta to 800 800 to 70 70 to 77 to 541 541 thru Coshocton to 62 62 to 37 37 to Delaware My friend lives in Delaware so I'd basically be bringing him right to his doorstep.
  16. I believe we are going to the steak fry @ the KOC then probably head over to Hooters on the East side for a change. Leaving shortly.
  17. What's 800 like from 70 down to the river?
  18. Google voice is only gonna work for you if the person you are trying to block doesn't ALREADY have your number. You'd have to start giving out your Google number and NOT your cell number. Have the Google number ring into your cell. But like I said, if the person already has your cell number and Sprint won't block it for you then it sounds like you're a bit screwed. Probably gonna have to change your number.
  19. I don't wanna follow him into any ditches
  20. Thanks for those suggestions, gotta sit down with the map tomorrow and plan this ride.
  21. I will agree with ya here, but not the kind of scenery I'm talkin about I would take him down 555 but not sure he's ready for that road, he doesn't have alot of twisty experience and I'll just end up losing him cause no way I'll be able to maintain "cruiser speed" if I go down the tripple nickel! Yeah, hey look at that cow over theeere, oh shit what am I doing in this pond?
  22. I'm planning a ride with a friend of mine for this Sunday, we have been trying to get together all season for a ride and finally have been able to agree on this Sunday for a all-day ride. He has a cruiser so I'm not looking for anything crazy twisty, more "scenic". The idea of this ride is to put on miles and take in some nice landscape! If the route happens to include twisties, thats simply a plus for me I've never really planned a ride around a "scenic" route so let me here your suggestions. I am thinking of including 56 thru Hocking and maybe something around Salt Fork State Park?
